We are heading to Florida for the week and on the drive my husband mentioned maybe doing a day at MK. Would probably be this Thursday the 4th. Any idea what kind of crowds we’d be looking at by then? We’ve only been this time of year once about 10 years ago, and I feel crowds overall have increased a lot since then. We just don’t want to spend the money if it’s going to be packed and miserable...plus we have no fast passes booked. Thanks!

I can't speak for the crowds, though I know there's a marathon happening the 3-7th. Touring Plans show MK as a 9 that day and their FP availability shows the 4th has a lot of availability, but I don't know how helpful that is since it won't let you see availability past 1 person.

Some schools are not back in session until the following Monday, so it will still be busy. Not Christmas week busy, but very busy.

We were at DW last year Christmas week to Jan. 5th. Crowds were pretty much the same both weeks. It was crowded, but manageable.

I'll be there the 3rd-5th and 8th-14th. Most of the research I've done said that it will continue to be busy through marathon weekend and then slow down starting the 8th.

Well, maybe we will just visit Disney Springs instead. It’s hard to be so close and not go to a park!!! Our normal time to go is June and we don’t normally spend time at Disney Springs because it’s so hot. Might be a good time to explore it. I just hate to spend the money for 1 day passes for 4 of us and not get to do everything we want to do.

I think DS is a good plan. That's what I would do this time of year, rather than a 1 day ticket.

Just two days ago I rescheduled some Fast Passes for Epcot from Jan 4th to Jan 5th and had no trouble finding the mid day times I wanted.

As others have noted I expect that it will still be a bit crowded from left over holiday folks mixed with those for the marathon.

I note that MK is open from 8am to midnight on the 4th. Perhaps you could plan for an early morning or a late evening to avoid the crowds?

I checked a couple of crowd predictor sites, and both are showing that WDW will be slammed all of next week.

Have you considered another WDW park instead such as Epcot or AK? MKP will be extremely busy, however, crowds at Epcot and AK should be slightly more manageable..
