Talked to my wonderful TA regarding 3 nights over labor day weekend and there are no rooms available Saturday nite :(
It was a last minute trip so I'm not surprised (this was for a resort on property). Has anyone ever gotten lucky when everything was sold out?

Why stay on property? There are -closer- hotels for a lot cheaper. Try Hojo or Best Western (Park Place Inn, Stovalls, Raffles). The Ramada Maingate has some good deals too.

what's the closest, nicest hotel off site? What is FFI?
Thanks for the insight all :)

FFI = Fairfield Inn.
The answer to the first question is a matter of opinion. We are staying at FFI that weekend, and i am about to cancel our previous reservation since we got a better rate so there is going to be room there :rotfl2:

FFI is a 3 star hotel. It is basic with some Disney decor, close and clean.
If you want 4 star, and cannot get a room at a DLRH for the weekend from Getawaytoday, some good options would be the Anaheim Hilton (which is also listed on the lastminutetravel link), Anaheim Hyatt, or Embassy Suites South. You would have to shuttle in from these locations though.

If it is the DLH it has been sold out for awhile, I have a friend who is going that weekend and they will be staying at an offsite place.

Call every day, they will have cancellations as the dates approach.

Good luck

Jack

Something else I learned while we were actually staying there 10 days ago, we were originally booked in for 3 nights and decided we needed one more night so I went online and checked and there was availability but only a standard room (we were in the level above that) so I phoned down to the front desk to book the room and was told there was no availablity at all! I said but it says online there is, he said, well I could book it online but we would then need to change rooms. He explained that rooms are held by many different parts of both disneyland resort, internet, inhouse, etc. the WDW travel company, other travel companies. He put me through to the WDW travel company and they booked us in, and she got on the phone directly to the hotel and we didn't even have to change rooms! So you can try checking online, calling the hotel front desk directly, the WDW travel company, and places like travelocity, hotel.com, etc. you never know, there might be rooms available if you can find who's holding them!
