Michelle,
My first race ever was the WDW half last January. It really was an exciting time. It's not only about the race itself but the whole marathon weekend, meeting fellow WISHers, and just being at Disney.
I was concerned about the sweepers due to my speed but all worked out well. I wish I could have had more time taking pictures with the characters but I didn't want to take any chances with getting behind. I listed a few of my minor problems at the beginning of this thread just as a note. The heat and humidity did affect me somewhat and even though I didn't try anything new, I learned what I would do differently next time.
As others have said, relax and enjoy the surroundings, thank the volunteers and just have a good 'ol time.
