Short backstory. Spent a week at AoA before DS turned 3 (Oct 2015). Had a blast but was shocked by crowds, planning, etc., as it had been a solid decade since i'd been to WDW.

Now DS is approaching 5 and we recently found out #2 is on the way. I wanted to do something fun that my son would remember forever before baby and kindergarten and moving across the country in 2019 rock his world as he knows it. Problem is, with crappy maternity leave (read: no vacation time) and hip problems that get serious mid-second trimester w/ pregnancy and a husband that works most weekends, we have to do it now. Our next WDW trip will probably be when #2 is 2ish, so, you know, years! AND kiddo is almost 44" tall, so let's go!

So last week I booked tickets March 1-4, flying into TPA, staying at Magic Moments 2 nights and Legoland Beach Retreat 1 night. I had originally thought we'd just do a day and a half in MK followed by a day at Legoland (where we really want to take him before he grows out of it). I was lamenting to my hubby that I'd be RIGHT THERE next to my favorite place in the entire world (WWHP) and not get to revel in the glory that is Diagon Alley, and he says, let's go there too.

I know this sounds crazy, but with my son's height and my pregnancy limiting what we can ride, I think it's doable (if flights are on time. if not, well, humbug). You tell me.

Thursday our flight arrives in tampa at 9am. I'm thinking we could be in the parks by 12:30. Plan was to go to USF, ride despicable me (stationary seats) and transformers, and then go to Diagon Alley to soak up the atmosphere, see celestina warbeck, take my son to ollivanders (he is obsessed with my wand lol), get some grub. if the line isn't ridiculous he and my hubs can ride gringotts or hippogriff. I'm going to look at EVERY. SINGLE. THING. lol. If we have enough time, we will upgrade our passes at hogwarts express and see hogsmeade at night, walk through hogwarts and spend any remaining time in Seuss Land. if we only have like an hour left, we'll probably just walk to toon town or simpsons world instead of upgrading/hopping.

Friday we will do what we can in Magic Kingdom, given that there are EMH that day that we won't have access to (this is honestly the part of the plan that makes me cringe the most... it feels like the epitome of bad planning ugh...)
We'd like to ride buzz lightyear, dumbo, the barnstormer (not me), pooh, TLM, enchanted tales, see the parade and see the fireworks. if we have more time, he's tall enough for BTMR and splash with Dad. If we get lucky at the 24 hour mark and get a BOG reservation, we'll do that too. NOTE: Right now we have no FP+ because I haven't bought the tickets yet... I wanted to get some feedback on the plan before pulling the trigger.

Saturday morning we check out, drive to Legoland, see what there is to see, and go to our Legoland beach retreat. We relax Sunday and fly out of TPA at 3pm.

Am I NUTS? Or does this seem doable with my limited expectations?

TIA!

small update - somehow I snagged a BOG lunch at 11:20 on Friday!!!!!! yayyyyy!!! on the other hand, they just upped the crowd calendar from a 5 to a 6. boo.

No, you're not nuts. It sounds busy, but sounds fun.

Ditch the crowd calendar stuff, it's a complete WAG anyway.

For MK, you should have little to no troubles picking up FP+ for the attractions you listed. They're easy to get same day.

Congrats on the pregnancy!!!

@Wosmama6 I hope you had a wonderful trip and a peaceful pregnancy! Can I ask how was the Legoland Beach Retreat? Your thread is the only hit I get when I search this site!

Sounds so fun! Just keep refreshing the app for FP+ or try to get overlapping times for each member of your party! Hope the weather is nice for you!

Closing as the OP has completed her trip and hasn’t been on DIS since early March.
