Last minute possible change

So we leave in 32 days. Just got word that one in our party may not be able to go but won't know until last minute. My question....what happens to the tickets in our package that are assign to them. Do I lose out? Can they be kept for another trip? Can the name be changed? What about the magic band? Advise please.

I would imagine that the name could be changed may be your only option there....but also maybe you could upgrade some of the other passes???

I believe that the tickets are in the name of that person and if they do not go, I am not sure you can do anything with them. I know WDW policy is tickets and any options purchased must be used within 14 days of first use. All tickets and options are nontransferable and nonrefundable. I know they can be upgraded to an AP, but again I think only that person can do it. I am sure someone will have better information, it's been so loooong since we bought tickets, since we always get APs so very rusty on the information I would call and definitely find out from WDW.

Those tickets will stay in your My Disney Experience account and can be used on a future trip. In fact, as long as they aren't activated, you can also reassign them to someone else in your MDE account. Never used, multiday tickets do not expire. They will expire 14 days after first use (meaning physically used to enter a park) and are non-transferable only after they are used.

We have had that exact same thing happen. My sister can't take the trip and we booked a package. Since the package ticket was purchased at the old prices, we decided to keep it for future use. It was my sister's ticket but we are buying it so that we can use the cheaper ticket on a future trip. The ticket will activate on arrival day and it will stay under my sister's name until we are ready to use the ticket. She will reassign it to us. An unused ticket can be reassigned by the original owner. She gets to keep the MagicBand for future trips, since it is listed in her MDE account and it can't be used by anyone else.

Can the name be changed?

You can assign that ticket to someone else but if they don't have a MagicBand then you will have to go to Guest Relations and have them load the ticket only a plastic card.
