Last minute NYE trip - need help!

Planned a last minute trip for the family to spend NYE in Orlando. We are Disney people owning DVC and have not been to Universal in over 10 years. We were planning to go to Universal over the summer but this trip came up at a good price staying offsite so we took it.


Kids would really LOVE to go to Universal now so I am wondering if it would be a waste of money trying to go over the holiday weekend? Can we upgrade tickets if we buy them now to use again later this year like Disney? Can anyone give honest opinion/advice on how to make the most of this quick trip??

So you would be staying at WDW and going over to Universal?

You can definitely upgrade just like at WDW. APs are much cheaper at Universal.

No we are staying at Caribe Royal. I went ahead and purchased 3 day park to park tickets for Universal from UT. I am just not sure if we will survive not having the Express Pass with the holiday crowds. Thinking of upgrading those tickets to APs for use on an upcoming trip.

Get there early and do all the big rides asap.
