Last minute guest

Good morning all, I have a question regarding my stay next month.

It will be our first DVC trip at our home resort of BLT. We are a family of four, the girls are young. It turns out that my mother may be able to drive up from Miami for a few days to see us.

We are in a one bedroom and my mother does not take up much room.

What does disney require in order for her to stay a few days, with parking?
We will be on the dining plan but my mother will not need for the whole time.
Is there room enough for five of us in the one bedroom?

The one bedroom at BLT has an occupancy of 5 people age 3 and over (plus 1 infant max), since it has the sleeper chair. You just need to call and have her added.

BUT ... the dining plan is going to be your problem. Everyone in the room has to be on the plan for all the same days. You might consider dropping the plan for the days your mother is there and having your reservation segmented so you can have DDP for part, and not for part.

We have the same problem with the DDP, but can't segment our RCI traded week. The BCV front desk CM on the Resorts board said I can add our guest as a day guest for a night or 2, but they wouldn't get the perks of a resort guest. They'd get a room key, but no KTTW. At BCV they couldn't use SAB. They should be able to get a parking pass. I'd call MS and see what your best option is.

You could add her at the front desk when she arrives. However, she would not be able to get the DDP for her stay since she is an add on guest.

If you were hoping to that she could get it for just the days she is there, then you need to call MS, have them segment your reservation so you can add her now and get her the DDP for the days she is there.

If you are unsure if and when she can come, I would just add her when she comes and have her pay OOP for her meals.

We had our in-laws join us last minute as well a few days into a week long trip. We just mentioned it at check-in and CM added names to the dates we specified. They got a KTTW and added their park tickets to them on arrival. We also had DDP for our original reservation - so just IL just paid OOP during the datys they stayed. This was over at AK-Kidani Easter 2010.
