For a compulsive planner and Disney lover, this trip has all the makings of a disaster! But nonetheless, 3 days ago we got fed up with winter, decided that we wouldn't be able to take our DD3 in July, as her sister will be making her grand arrival the end of June, and basically, I couldn't bear the thought of waiting another year to go back to WDW...sooo...
We booked a 6 day trip to CSR for us! Egads! The busiest time of the year, less than a month to go, and the expectation (which is proving to be true!) of a complete inability to book ANYTHING we normally have done! So much planning, so much planning, so little time....On the bright side, the torture of having to wait so long when a trip is planned well in advance isn't there this time.
Also, since we had basically prepared DD for the fact there would be no trip to the House of Mouse to see the princesses this year, we figured no point in telling her about it just yet...we're extremely interested to find out when she'll actually put the whole thing together. With her age, it's easy to "plan around" her, but the airport, airplane, or warm weather & ME might tip her off. Secretly, I hope she won't think anything until we get to MK around 11 AM (our definite first stop, for her benefit!) and I will just melt when she sees the castle. She gets so excited at the beginning of Disney movies when the castle comes out, so I know what that would be like. Anyhow, have tons of planning to do!

we will be there too over Easter! It's the only time we can all get away. ENJOY this time and I am sure you will do just fine! Wish you lots of fun in planning this exciting time!!!!

You guys have fun too! Getting ready to make my dining ADRs now....We're in the same boat, time wise, as you. DW works in education, so her breaks are normal school breaks, BUT, I work in agriculture, so summer break is a bad time for us. That leaves generally late July, but with the baby coming in the end of June, that wasn't going to work. It broke my heart to not take DD3 there this year (and let's face it, I wasn't happy about not going either!) So Easter gave us an extra day of break (Good Friday) that I could swing to go too!

Funny....I am in education as well :teacher: and DH works in a seasonal job (we live at a beach resort area) SO we can only vacation during heavy times!!! No baby on the way here though!!:lmao: We were able to get two adrs....chef mickey (a must for us) and Hollywood and Vine to see the Einsteins (a must too for DS4) Other than that we are doing a lot of counter service b/c of the time of the year. Remember there is a "holiday extra cost" of I believe $4 for each person over the Easter break for character meals. :confused3 TIME IS TICKING!!!!! CAN'T WAIT!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Danny - I'm sure it will be magical. I will say, in our previous trips, we have used TGM, and plan to this time. I think his guides for time planning are invaluable!

As for dining, t, we've already had to scratch CRT and Hoop de Doo, although I may ask again today when I call. We have done the Playhouse Disney Breakfast the last 2 times we went, and DD loved it, but I don't know if we'll go this time. With a 3 YO, as you know with a 4 YO, we aren't going for "highbrow" dining, but do want to have some TS besides the CS dining. We opted for the dining plan this time, as much for the "more cost already known" than anything else. We don't do well at spur of the moment spending, and this way, I KNOW what a lot of the trip costs upfront. I'm sure you'll have a great time too, t, I figure, how can you not? It's WDW!

Despite advice, this is only day we have to visit MK. Visiting family in Florida.
We are parking at MK Best thing we can do is arrive by 7am (park opens at 8am) to get on some rides. We were able to book lunch at 12:50pm at Crystal Palace then plan to catch a spot for 3:30pm parade. It's late night EMH for disney resort guests, too. So I figure going in early that day is cool.My kids are 5 and almost 7 yr old boys - one who LOVES princesses.

I told kids we will for sure get them on two picks for rides ea: winnie the pooh, buzz lightyear, Snow White and Dumbo --I know, Dumbo first. Other than that we just will take in the sights. I have been told to hang out after the forecourt stage show in hopes of perhaps seeing a princess up close. Any other suggestions.

This will be our second time going on a whim for Easter break. I worked out very well for us last time. We were unable to make many adr's but we were able to put our names in and get a table at some of our fav's. We made sure we were at the restaurant right when the meal was starting to be served and they would tell us @ an hour. Within minutes we were seated and enjoying our good fortune. our children are older now(dd's 9 & 7) so the simple fact that we are in WDW is all we could hope for the rest is just gravy.

Curiously, which favorites did that work at? I'm a little concerned because we got the DDP, so we need to make sure to use our TS credits, but I don't want to have to settle TOOOOO much.
