We are taking a last minute trip for February Vacation.
Just couldn't look at this snow any longer without a break.
The kids have been home more days than in school the last three weeks.
And they are still having 6 more vacation days off in February!

I was lucky enough to get a Savanna View Room at Kidani.
We are not going to the parks this trip.
We don't want to get our APs until our May trip.
I'm looking for non-park ideas for a DD (4) and DS (6)

I know there are a ton of activities at Kidani.
Hoping it will be warm enough to swim a little.
Planning to watch 8pm Wishes from the Poly Beach one night.
I didn't have much luck getting any Character meals this late.
What other activities are there to do outside the parks with the kids???

Thinking of maybe taking a day to go to SeaWorld...

TIA

Miniature Golf
Disney Quest
Rent some bikes
Drink around the monorail....
WL Tour (9 AM) - free
Visit each resort - even the values (good food courts)
Boardwalk - Jellyrolls at night.
Visit your DVC guide
Tennis, jogging, etc.

SW usually has get a 2nd day free--you just have to take your ticket to guest services BEFORE you leave the park. So, that would be 2 days at SW and your ages are perfect for SW. 2 days lets you break it up--there are a number of great shows, but who can sit thru 3 shows in 1 day? There is a new kids area Happy Harbour with great kids ride and a fun climber--make sure to go with them, or you will not be able to find them.
The Community Hall at AKV-K is great--lots of free crafts/coloring, etc. And you can decorate cookies at Bomas at 1pm. We like to rent fishing poles over at Ft W. We also like to take hotdogs/carrots/Mmellows and roast our dinner/dessert at FtW and then do chip-dale sing-a-long (we skip the movie--too late). We make Rice Crispy mickey Ears at Dtown Disney at Goofy Candy. go to Lego store, play with stuff--take hand sanitizer! Then, I let them get a Lego kit to make back at DVC. Rent bikes for the day at OKW and then ride on the trail over to SSR and visit their CH. Or, rent bikes for the day at Ft. W and ride the trail to WL. DVC discount for bikes and fishing, I think.

Our next trip we plan on actually taking advantage of the outdoor movie at our resort. We also have been dying to do the Chip and Dale Campfire Sing a long at the campground. My husband also wants to rent a surrey at the boardwalk.
Have fun!

Use your DVC perks of 15% off of miniature golf - we like the one at Blizzard Beach - just take the bus to Blizzard Beach and walk over to the mini putt beside it - Winter/Summerland - lots of fun! Also the one across from the Swan/Dolphin - Fantasialand is fun too.
We also like to go to matinee movies at Pleasure Island while everyone else is at the parks.

Welcome Home Wednesday is now at 2:00

Eat at Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex

Ride the MK loop monorail and the longer Ep loop

hot air balloon ride at DTD

tour Pop Century resort to see the big icons

rent a pontoon boat and take a picnic lunch with you

evening electric water parade

evening entertainment along the Boardwalk

The Lego store is closed for remodeling. There is a Lego store in a tent beside Once Upon a Toy. The newly expanded store is suppposed to open in May.

Bikes at Fort Wilderness
Rent a boat on Bay Lake
Take a surrey around Crescent Lake
Mini Golf
AKL has fantstic kids activities
Marketplace and then walk or take a boat to SSR or OKW
We love the outdoor movies at the Beach Club

We also enjoy the town of Celebration which is close by. They have some nice shops, a movie theatre, book store, and restaurants. We are partial to the Celebration Town Tavern which is owned by a Boston area family and has excellent seafood flown in from Ipswich MA. :)

Make sure to check the recreation calendar when you check in. At Jambo, they have a day, not sure when though where your children can decorate animal shaped cookies with frosting and goodies. Some activities are pool side. Some are in the community center. We loved Kidani's community center. They have a pool table and (I think) foosball, Playstations (I think PS2's- Sorry we've been to two others since then!) They have board games and all kind of crafts. Most of the craft things cost a minimal amt (less than $10 each) and with your DVC card, you usually save $$. Remember you can "rent" DVD's and remember poolside movies.
