I'm looking at a last minute cruise to go somewhere in early December as a surprise Christmas gift for my mother.

And I'm trying to think of the most economical way to do this and try to get some onboard credits

Could somebody in private me a travel person they work with regularly or if anybody here was going to recommend a cruise in early December which one would you do based on the current availability

Could care less about the ports because it's all about the experience on the cruise

No reason to use a private conversation for this. Many specific TAs can be mentioned here on DISboards. Only request is that the full URL be posted when doing so, to confirm that they pass the filter for DISboards.

You don't say where you are, so I don't know if airfare is a factor, but it looks like the best deal in early December is the December 2nd Wonder sailing out of Galveston.

For 2 Adults it is currently: $1882 IGT, $2141 OGT, $2582 VGT. If you book with Costco, that would give you a cash card worth $120-$190 or more if you book into a higher category; Or if you go with Dreams Unlimited, according to their chart you would get $50-$100 OBC.

They have some restricted discounted rates on the Wonder out of Galveston Dec 2. That would be my choice since it's a 7 night western Caribbean cruise. An inside room for 2 is around 1800 and a ocean view 2100. That is a really good rate for a Disney Cruise. We did this cruise last year same week, but different ports. I would book through Costco for the cash card or Dreams Unlimited for the onboard credit.

You beat me. We posted the same thing at the same time.

I live in Florida.

Was looking at them last night

I really want to do the dream. I found the 4 day cruises are just as much as the 7 day on fantasy. Then I thought I could just go in February for half the price for the 4 day one. Ugh can't decide

At this point I would just hold off and see if they offer discounts out of Florida. Your best bet for a discount is the Magic out of Miami, but you could see them on the Fantasy. They usually offer discounts at around 2 months out or less. You're very close to that. Just follow the GT, FLR thread on these boards.

That's kind of what I was thinking - wait a little longer unless NOT going on a cruise will make you miserable. It makes me giggle that three months out is "last minute". :)

We also use Beth F--Dreams Unlimited. She even helps me find great rooms when traveling on points versus paying for a cruise. She knows I'll be a repeat customer and I do refer friends to her. She's wonderful, and continues to look out for additional perks and discounts for you even after you've paid and "think" you're done. :) I'm doing the 22 December Dream cruise over Christmas on DVC points (I know, I know... renting them and paying cash is less expensive, but I had some to use or lose!), and as it was our first time on the Dream, I didn't know about the rooms with the huge balconies... (kinda like knowing about secret porthole rooms on the Wonder and Magic!) She made the ressie for me, and then had me call Disney to "pay" for it with my DVC points. She's always doing her best for us! If you're eligible for discounts later, such as FL Resident Rates and such, she WILL let you know. :) We <3 Beth!
