Happy Holidays!

Tying up some loose ends. I thought about some of the food items we have to snack on and decided we needed something else sweet. Just finished dipping a batch of pretzels in chocolate. :) They look nice and it's not over the top sweet. We have enough of that.

What last minute preparations are you making? :santa:

Right now I am working, but when I go home I will bake cream-cheese apricot tarts and date squares. I also have to make au gratin potatoes (the ones they serve at the Princess breakfast) and cole slaw. Other than that, I will have a quiet evening snuggling with my hubbie, daughter, and dog and watching Christmas movies.

I can't wait to get to my kitchen and get going!!

Have a wonderful holiday!!

Have to make the deviled eggs (they're already hard boiled) and straighten up the living room..

Other than that, I'm done! :thumbsup2

We're having a snacky dinner at my Aunt and Uncle's house. She will make like 5 million things so we're just bringing a few. I just finished the:

Oreo Truffles:

Meatballs:

and Buffalo Chicken dip smothered in cheese:

Now all thats left is the Rotel cheese dip, and the mini crab cakes with Remalaude sauce!

I am so ahead of schedule this year!! Compared to last year, that is - when I was wrapping at 1:00am.

Everything is done except for some house cleaning and people cleaning (ie a shower for me!!) My daughters are playing the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer version of Monopoly right now, and every 30 minutes I make them pause and help me tidy one more room. We are making excellent progress!!! Once the den, kitchen and sunroom are tidied we will be all finished. We are going to Christmas Eve dinner at 5:30pm with family, then back home around 9:00pm or so to read the Christmas Story, watch some Christmas movies (probably Charlie Brown and the original Grinch) and then I have a little elf work to do while the girls have their traditional viewing of the Jim Carrey Grinch as they fall asleep. Then it will be Christmas!!!!

I may spend part of the afternoon getting some cooking things and dishes together for Christmas dinner - I won't cook it until tomorrow night. Depends, though, on how lazy I get later in the day!!

Helping my mom clean up to get ready for everyone coming over tomorrow for gift exchange and dinner. I also like to drop off some needed items to the animal shelter for the homeless pets before Christmas, so I'll be doing that before they close.
