Last minute booking on the Fantasy, looking for excursion reviews.

We're doing this cruise in late September. We just booked excursions. We chose Chichen Itza in Cozumel, Saltwater Forest in Grand Cayman, and we hired a private driver/guide in Jamaica through Disney. We will see how we like them.

We live in a touristy beach community, so we're not too jazzed up about beach days or dolphin swims or sting rays (my oldest met one a little too close up at the beach one day and it stung her) and we generally want to experience the culture or nature. Everyone is different.

Thanks for all the feedback! We decided to go with a cabana at Royal Palms at 7 Mile beach which still had cabanas available. Price was very reasonable when compared to DCL excursion prices.

Still have to figure out Cozumel I think we are leaning towards Paradise Beach.

You are probably on your cruse right now! When you return I'd love to hear your impressions of the two places you chose. These are the ones we are also considering. I'm especially wondering if we should pay for the cabana at Royal Palms? I sort of like the idea of deciding that day, just showing up and not worrying that I'd already committed $150 (prices are going up).

Hey tbholc81 I think we ended up next to each other at Royal Palms, that place was a little more intense than I anticipated. Did you happen to get hit with credit card fraud shortly after the cruise ended by any chance? Someone tried to order a bunch of merchandise from Neiman's on our card and I'm pretty sure the only place it left my sight was at Royal Palms... Hopefully just a coincidence, but the timing seemed to line up.

Yes it was really more crowded than we thought it would be, and the waitress told us it was a slow day with only two ships in port. It certainly felt more intense than our day at Paradise Beach which was practically empty. It looked like the key would be to get there early and get a cabana closer to the water.

We just checked and do not have and extra charges on our card. But thanks for letting us know, we’ll keep our eye on it and good luck tracking down your charges.

Glad y’all didn’t get hit too. I would hate to think it was Royal Palms, but I’m just not sure where else it could have happened.

We did the Good Hope Estate tour and do not recommend it at all. The bus ride was long (with the escort lady singing to us very bad Bob Marley), the wait at the bottom of the mountain was a good 45+ minutes - at the gift shop (surprise!), the wait at the top of the mountain was another 30+ minutes, the house was not well preserved, the food was very late (after 2PM) and then the long drive back with more bad Bob Marley.

My wife has a much stronger opinion than I but words cannot convey how much we do not recommend this excursion

Was this a tour or the Chukka Taste of Jamaica? I am currently torn on Falmouth and that is really the only one that my party could do because of a wheelchair potential.

It was (at that time) Chukka Taste of Jamaica at Good Hope Estate (FA28)

ETA: Based on my recollection, this would be a challenging excursion for a person in a wheelchair. Lots of on/off busses, stairs (don't recall ramps, but they may have been there) and narrow hallways.
