We're traveling to WDW in just 17 days and with everything going on, I forgot to make an appointment for BBB. We are celebrating our daughter's 8th birthday while we're there and I really wanted to get her an appointment on her birthday. We have dinner reservations at CRT at 7:10. They had nothing available at MK and the only appointment at DTD was 5:30 which probably wouldn't be enough time for our ADR.

Any suggestions? I already have a dress for her that we're bringing with us. Should I keep calling and hope for a cancellation? Should I skip it and just do her hair and makeup myself? Thanks for any input!!

I would probably keep calling to see if anyone cancels. If not, there are a possibly a couple of options. You could get hair done at Harmony Barbershop, although that wouldn't be a princessy, they can pull it back and add glitter (at least they could the last time we were there 2 years ago). You could also check out the spas at the resorts and see what they might be able to do. Also depending on which princess she is going to be, you may be able to get in for an appointment at the PL for a mermaid makeover (though that won't work for all princesses).

Her dress is Elsa. I'm tempted to learn how to do Elsa's coronation up-do and do it myself. Is that a good option - then maybe I can take her to together the Harmony Barbershop for glitter?

PL's Mermaid package is a pulled back look with face pain around the eyes and flower hair piece. Try the GF, their Ivy Trellis Salon could do something for you, and you can use the resort monorail there and back.
407-824-3000 (for the Grand Floridian) and ask for the Flower Girl Bundle plus makeup – and explain you are scheduling a Princess makeover for you little one. This will cost about $50 and they will add a 20% gratuity. Payment will be due after the service is provided. Hope you girl has a fabulous princess birthday!

even try a day or 2 before. In February we tried and tried for my brother to get a MK Appt. for his DD - they evening before I called and one was open! Imagine their surprise when I called and told them I did it! Keep trying - don't give up :)

Thanks! I'll definitely keep trying. I'm hoping for a cancellation. Does anyone know if they have a "stand-by list" or something like that?

No standby lists. You just have to keep calling. Also, the mermaid makeup is not face paint. It is eyeshadow.

Thanks. I called again today and no openings yet, but I went ahead and made a mermaid appointment as a backup just in case. She also mentioned that they do take walk-ins. Has anyone attempted that? We have a breakfast at 8:15 at Crystal Palace. If we hi-tailed it over to the boutique after that, do you think we'd have a shot of getting in or would the wait be too long?
