Last Minute AoA Reservation Modification - What are my chances?

Hi all,

I have a reservation at Art of Animation coming up in a couple weeks, in a Little Mermaid room. I've previously stayed in a family suite, and loved it!

I've heard so many lovely stories about people getting pixie dusted and upgraded to the suites these days, that I've been checking my MDE app a million times a day to see if anything had changed. Eventually I decided that if I really want to stay in a family suite that badly, I should just book it!! Duh!

So I went to change it online, and there was no availability So I then called on the phone, and was also told that there was no availability. She did tell me I could continue checking in, because people drop their reservations all the time. Now I'm kicking myself for not trying to do this sooner.

So my question is, what do you guys think my chances are at this point? I'm about three weeks out from our trip. Also, how often should I call back to check in on availability??

Any insight would be welcome! I'm still psyched for this trip regardless. I haven't been to WDW since 2015.

Well, I was hoping to delete this thread, but it seems like that's not an option.

While I'm here, I'll just say that the chances were 100% lol I called a little later, and was able to book a Lion King suite. So if anyone finds themselves in a similar pickle, just keep your fingers crossed and keep trying.
