Last Minute Advice and Tips Needed! - URGENT HELP!!!!

I leave for WDW on Friday, May 7 for nine days at the Polynesian Resort. I've never been to WDW in May before, so can anyone tell me what I need to pack? After school on Wednesday, my mom is taking my sister, my dad, and me to the mall and we are going to get some stuff to wear on our trip. Any tips on what to bring and pack?

Most important: do NOT buy new shoes or sandals (unless for just around the pool. Bring your most comfortable, broken in athletic shoes. Forget fashion - comfort and lack of blisters are of paramount importance!!

I also suggest bringing layers...it can be VERY hot during the day, but it can get cool at night, especially if you are taking the boats anywhere.

Important note regarding the meds. You may want to also have your doctor make a prescription for a 'single fill' of any prescriptions for you to take along with you in case something happens - loss, theft - whatever. I've dropped my last bottle of insulin and smashed it - oops!!!!!!!!!!!

If nothing else, if there is a Walgreens near your home or doctor, you can call the Dr. if need be and ask them to call it into walgreens. Then you can pick up at ANY Walgreens. I had a problem with my thyroid refill just before vacation so the Dr. called one into Walgreens (I don't have one so I normally use WM) and I picked it up in Missouri right near where we were staying.

There's also at least one pharmacy that will deliver to any Disney Resort hotel. We had to have our ped. call in a pinkeye prescription for my DD when we were there, and the front desk helped us find the pharmacy. It wasn't cheap having it delivered, but we didn't have a rental car, so any $$ would have been worth it!

Also, you will definitely need a lot of sunscreen! We were there in late April - early May and a couple of days were cooler and overcast, and those were the days I got burned!!!

Water, Water Water!
Get a fridge for your room...crank it up and Freeze little bottles. Put them in thise little thrmal cloth type bottle jackets. Saved us big time.
Get water off property! the prices are crazy! Get a case for the 9 dyas (mini bottles because they will melt too fast and you don't want allot of warm water.)

Bring an xtra pair of undies and jogging shorts and put them in your bag or hipsack/backpack. Why you ask? When you are cooling off by getting soaked in the water thingies...you won't have to sit soaked. Worked well for me.

Send xtra packages to the hotel when you buy things at the stores (they will write it on the receipt.)

It was very hot when we went in the early part of May last year (We said we wouldn't do that again...to darn hot)

Rent those water mouse boats for length of stay too...you save more that way (check it out at the dock.) That is one of my husbands prerequisits for going to Disney.

Extra batteries for cameras & walkie talkies.

You are so right! I learned this one the hard way. Yikes

We went last year at the same time as you and it was unbelievably hot and humid. Check the weather online and decide what you'll need. Light weight and loosefitting is a must for me in hot weather. Dark sunglasses and holders are always needed. I buy a cheap extra pair of sunglasses for each person- funny how I never lose/break glasses if I have a back-up pair.
