Taking my kids to our first trip to Universal for just one day of our Disney trip. We've done Disney plenty of times and will be taking it easy at Disney even though we have park hopper tickets and staying at the Dolphin.

The last day of our trip next week, we will be moving to Royal Pacific for just one night (check-in 24th, checkout 25th) so we could get the express unlimited + early admission for our universal day on the 24th. All that I read said that we could get express unlimited + early admission even on the day of checkin.

With both the express unlimited and early admission, will we be able to make it through all the WoHP in one day? And maybe a few other major rides here and there?
I'm spoilt by Disney plans of taking a break during the middle of the day, is that even recommended for just the one day trip.
On 25th, we sleep in and check out.

We are doing Universal on the last day of our vacation vs the first day as we want to get out of Disney Parks during the Princess Half Marathon weekend and Thursday will be the packet pickup.
Any tips and suggestions of covering the maximum on a day that we will anyway be tired is highly appreciated.

Check into the hotel (RP) early
Your room probably will not be ready but you will receive your room card keys

That is what you need to use the unlimited ep for rides and shows.
Well, also a park ticket but figured you already knew that

i have seen quite a few check into the hotel at 7:am
Some will say they have seen peeps arrive earlier than that

If you are a potter fan, it can take up a lot of your time
Check out some of the trip reports how other potter fans have been successful in hitting all potter highlights in both parks

I wouldn't take a break with just 1 day. Your break can be to see a show or something. But, there's too much to do. If you don't feel like doing rides or shows, go and play at the Jurassic Park play area- Camp Jurassic. It's a great way to have some unstructured free time in the parks (its for bigger kids- fyi). https://orlandoinformer.com/univers...eight restrictions, has a single entrance/exit.

Poke around here for great advice on HP https://orlandoinformer.com/universal/wizarding-world-harry-potter-insiders-guide/

Hi there! My family and I added on one day at Universal to the end of our Disney trip last September. We stayed at the RP, and my kiddos were 10/8/7. I feel we were able to do pretty much everything we wanted to in one day. Here’s our experience —

EPA was at USF, but we decided that we’d forgo early admission over there (all of the rides that would be open were rides we could use our express pass on, and we really wanted to ride Hagrids), and RD IOA instead, which had a 9am opening. This worked out perfectly. I can’t say exactly what time we left to walk over, but the time stamps on my phone show us eating breakfast by the hotel fountain at 7:39am, and my next picture is of us outside the turnstiles at 8:10am. We were the second group from the front, and within 15mins or so the crowds started filling in behind us. They let us in a little early, and we walked with the crowd directly to Hagrids. We are fast walkers, but some people definitely ‘did not run but basically ran’ around us to get ahead 🤣 No matter - we pretty much walked right on, got off and got right back into line, and rode again. By 9:42am we were exploring Hogsmead, and the line for Hagrids at that point was super long. We explored, bought wands, did some spells, and rode all of the rides before we decided to hop on the Hogwarts express (timestamp on pic of us in line is 11:11am). We explored Diagon Alley, grabbed some ice cream and butter beer, and hit up the ride twice before venturing out of the area to ride some non-HP rides. We grabbed a late lunch at Finnegan’s - because we were hot and tired and they only had an hour wait. We ran into some friends from back home while we waited for RRR (small world!), and then headed back to the train - this was about 4:15pm. We hit up all the non HP rides we wanted (except VelociCoaster, which went down while we were in line and didn’t come back up in time for us to ride), and got back in line for Hagrids - we all wanted to ride it in the dark. We waited about 45 mins, and were off by 7:58. At that time there were death eaters out - my kids LOVED interacting with them, but the area was completely packed out.

The park closed at 8, but the death eaters were out a little bit after close. We took our time leaving, and ended up at the Moes/BK/Panda Express area to grab a bite to eat. This is where we experienced the longest lines of the day - I’m talking over an hour. It was insane, but the kids interacted with other kids who were also waiting for food, and passed the time with a new friend or two. Timestamp on pic shows us walking back to the room at 10:23 pm

We were all exhausted, but we made it through. Totally worth one day of non-stop park touring (we are also a ‘break in the middle of the day’ family whenever we go to Disney, so I was expecting some complaining from the kids but it never came).
Here’s everything we were able to ride

IOA
Hagrids (x3)
Flight of the Hippogriff
HP and the Forbidden Journey (x2)
HE - Hogsmead Station
Dr. Dooms Fearfall
Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
Skull Island, Reign of Kong

USF
HP and the Escape from Gringotts (x2)
HE - Kings Cross
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket
Revenge of the Mummy
The Simpsons Ride
Transformers (went down while we were in line - ended up losing almost 35 mins, but it was air conditioned so we stuck it out).

Decide ahead of time what you definitely want to hit, and what are skips for your family. Have a basic plan, but with express pass it’s really easy to pivot and make plan changes while you are there. Good luck, and lmk if you have any questions!
