Last min Jan '17 Mom/Dtr Trip! COMPLETE 1/10/17

You have so many good eating/drinking plans! Sanaa is one of our faves so I hope you both enjoy it :goodvibes I also hope you can eat at EoS, because their sandwiches are delicious!!! Plus you mentioned 2 of my favorite Epcot drinks, the grey goose slush and the avocado margarita. I need to start making plans for our May trip!!
New Soarin' is so incredibly beautiful and FEA is...... :( I'm not a big Frozen fan at all but rode FEA last Aug. to check it out, and I expected more. Plenty of fans love it though, and I feel every new attraction is worth doing once rather than taking everybody's else's opinion :)

I LOVED seeing your review of Sanaa and can't wait to try this! It's probably the meal I'm MOST looking forward to! Mom has never seen Frozen, and honestly doesn't know much about it. I, on the other hand, made my DH (31) and DFIL (mid 50s), watch one Friday night while scarfed down cheese and crackers and had some beer. :p I was thinking of renting it on Itunes (if thats possible) and watching with Mom Tuesday night in the hotel room because no one really sleep the night before Disney right?!

And I agree, every new attractions gets a lot one shot! I'll be sure to report back.

We love Mama Melrose.

I need to check out their menu! Mom and I BOTH love Italian, and a good limoncello!

Your plans look great so far! Love all the park-hopping. With a 4-day trip, it's a must to make sure you see everything you can.

Never stayed at CSR before but I've heard great things! It's a bit larger than I'm used to, but the theming is gor-geousssss! On our first mother-daughter trip, Mom and I were between CBR and CSR for our resort. I was rooting for CSR but Mom was pulling for CBR, and since she was paying, I let her choose :rotfl: I still wish we would have gone with CSR though, haha!

Mom and I LOVE Sanaa!!! The Indian Bread Service is a must! I also loved my Blackberry Ginger Mojito. The view with the animals outside is stunning, and you really get a lot of bang for your buck there.

Oh and thanks for the shoutout girl :goodvibes So sad that our trips didn't overlap last time, I would have loved to meet you! Maybe someday... :scratchin

We love CSR, I think you would too! I've stayed at CBR twice and Mom has stayed there once. I really like CSR's quiet pools better than CBR's. But once DH and I have babies I can DEF see us doing the whole 'Pirates' themed rooms and the themed pool at CBR. That is until I get him hooked on Deluxe hotels... *plots a booking a bounceback offer*

And yes, we need a meet! Someday!

Following along very excitedly! Did you end up choosing a TS for Day 2?

Welcome! :yay: As of right now we booked Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Package for Day 2 (1/12/17) BUT after reading tons of reviews most people are saying the food is 'eh' and the characters make the meal. *sigh*. I'm really torn what to do! It might be nice to not have a meal 'planned' and rely on walk up availability when we get hungry, wherever we are! Thoughts?

Well, I like the idea of the Fantasmic package, but I will give my 2 cents and reiterate how much I looooved Cape May and Chefs de France. Top 2, all day every day! But admittedly I don't know how they'll do for any allergies, or if you like them at all.

Last Minute Changes to Day 2

:earsboy:

Mom and I have fine tuned our plans! Yesterday was her last day at work so she is OFFICIALLY in vacation mode. I'm loving all the pins she is sending me on pinterest... this morning it was a pic of Kilamanjaro Safari and she said 'Jambo!' Girl after my own heart <3

For our Day 2/DS/DHS day we decided on the Fantasmic Hollywood & Vine dinner. We've read mixed reviews on the restaurant but I'm willing to try anything once! We haven't done any character meals since 2000, but maybe we've been missing out? Hopefully it's not too weird for a 29yo and 54 year old to be there sans kids!

Because we now planning on seeing Fantasmic thanks to the dining package, we had to change our TSM FP+ which was originally 6:40pm-7:40pm. And Fantasmic is at 7pm. I wasn't sure if there would be anymore FP+ left, but it was worth a shot... and we lucked out! Here are new, reviewed plan for day 2!

- Sleep in... which, for mom, means 7am. At the latest. Yawn. Cue lots of coffee. I have a Starbucks gift card thanks to swaybacks which I am VERY much looking forward to using due to her early risings.

- Snack credit for breakfast from Cafe Rix

- Leave the resort around 10am DS. Spend the morning shopping

- Early lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express OR Earl of Sandwich

- Dessert at Erin McKenna's Bakery

-Either way back to hotel for rest or go straight to DHS

- FP selections are now:

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
2:20pm-3:20pm

Toy Story Mania!

3:40 PM - 4:40 PM
Voyage of The Little Mermaid
5:50 PM - 6:05 PM

So we will make our way to Star Tours, and then wander over to Toy Story Mania, stopping at anything we want to/have time before TSM FP+ time. Then it's dinner at Hollywood & Vine at 4:35.

After dinner we'll need to walk off our food babies by finishing up any other attractions we didn't get a chance to see and then see Voyage of the Little Mermaid before heading over to Fantasmic seating.

BONUS PIC! Here is mom and I at my brother's wedding 12/31/16. Isn't she just the cutest?!

I do love Chefs de France AND have been wanting to try Cape May as well! There just isn't enough time for it alll :mickeybar

I had H&V dinner booked for our trip last Nov. and then I changed it :( On the one hand I'm glad I did because we ended up at Trails End and loved it, but even with the mediocre food reviews of H&V I'd really like to see the characters-their outfits there look so cute! And really what the heck, anything's worth trying once :)

It's such toss up! I agree - I'm up for anything once- plus I know this isnt somewhere DH would want to eat when we go on trips together. I'll DEF report back! I'm really not picky... I can thoroughly enjoy Chipotle as well the Four Seasons!

Mom Is Sick But We're Still Going/Last Post

Welcome to my last PTR post! I had the best intentions of getting another post in before this one but the weekend just got away from me. I

32 hours until I land in Disney! This means that I needed to get my tush in gear!

I started my new work schedule today (7:45am-5:45pm) so I didn't get home until about 6:15pm. I'm feeling really anxious, and when I'm anxious I bake/cook. Plus, our first blue apron delivery came in today! (It was supposed to arrive on Friday so I didn't have to shop this weekend... but THAT didn't happen). DH is at his night school class tn, so I started cooking and thought he could enjoy the meals when I'm gone. I got WAY too ambitious and cooked three darn blue apron meals! This are actually pretty time consuming, BTW.

ANYWAY... I've been throwing into my suitcase right and left and making a list for last minute items that can't be packed until tomorrow morning (toothbrush, hairbrush, etc). I feel like I'm not going to like any of the outfits I packed... anxiety girl problems. I still have two loads of laundry to fold and put away. I don't want to come home to a laundry EVERYWHERE.

The plan for tomorrow remains the same- mom is leaving her house at 6:15/6:30am for the bus station 30 miles away. From there she'l get on the bus around 7:40am and get to Boston around 12:20pm. I spoke with the Sheraton today and added her onto the reservation, so she can check in without me. Mom is going to do some shopping, nap and get some quick lunch while she's waiting for me arrive.

As I said, I'm working until 5:45pm and will need to go home to meet DH after since he is driving me into the city. I'm hoping to arrive at the hotel by 7pm/7:15pm. Mom mentioned wanting to get something to eat for dinner when I arrive, so we'll see how awake we each are.

We plan on being asleep by 9pm as we need to be awake by 2:30am/3am as I want us to leave the hotel by 4am!

Ok now the part you are all waiting for... MOM IS SICK!

I kid you not, this happens EVERY.SINGLE.TIME we go away. Here are some examples:
2014- NYC girls trip, she had bronchitis
May 2016 St.Thomas broken toe
There are others but I can't think of them.

and now we have a trifecta of illnesses! Well, not WE. SHE does.

The day of my brother's wedding, Dec 31st, mom complained of feeling stuffy. She has chronic sinus issues and we chalked it up to a) too wine the night before b) her hotel room being so cold.

* Side Note... the bathrooms in the hotel rooms at the menu were TEENY. I'm 5'1 and if I was sitting on the toilet my knees hit the sink! Well, the shower curtain in mom and dad's room was really long. Friday night Mom went to use the bathroom and stepped on the shower curtain, fell back into the bathtub and the shower curtain rod came downed hit her in the nose! I was dying of laughter when I heard about this the next morning... once I made sure she didn't get hurt! :lovestruc *

On Monday Mom told me she wasn't feeling better and went to the doctor- yep, sinusitis. She got herself a 10 day course of antibiotics. We started talking and I asked her to call the doctor for a 'just in case' prescription for.... things that happen to girls when they take antibiotics. I told her I am NOT going to urgent care on our vaca (because, ya know, it's all about me!)

And then this morning, 48 hour before our flight leaves I wake up to a Facebook message telling me she has impetigo her nose! The poor thing! Luckily she was able to get a prescription and fill it today. I swear I'mg going to bubble wrap her!

THANKS FOR JOINING ALONG, SORRY FOR THE WORDY POST! FEEL FREE TO FOLLOW ME ON INSTA: AHG611 OR ON SNACPCHAT ASHLEEGOULETTE.... I will DEF be writing a TR so also be on the look out for that!

And with that... I'm going to catch up on the bachelor and laundry. And dishes.

BONUS

DH gave me the green light to book a bounce book for May '17! So also be on the look out for THAT PTR once I get back!

There is no way in hell DH will give me the all clear on booking a bounce back lol. jealous!

Hope your mom feels better! And haaaave fuuuuun!
