We are checking into BWV on 12/31 and we can purchase the DDP and still be under the old rules for the remainder of our trip. I have used the DDP to visit old favorites and to try new restaurants too. I need to pick 2 new places that I have never been. Help me pick them!

Here are the ones that I am interested in (no particular order):

1. Maya Grill - CSR
2. Turf Club - SSR
3. Nine Dragons - Epcot
4. San Angel Inn - Epcot
5. Cap’n Jack’s
6. Raglan Road
7. Spoodles - Boardwalk

Every time I pick one, the other ones have something that appeals to me. *sigh*

Out of the ones you have listed, I would definitely try Raglan Road - although there have been a couple of negative reviews posted in the last couple of weeks, we have seen consistently good food there. Service can be a bit hit and miss, mind you

Hi Robinb!!!:goodvibes

Out of those you mentioned, I have only eaten at Spoodles. I liked it, but did I love it? nah. We eat breakfast there often when staying at BWV or Dolphin, and I have only had dinner there twice, and that was a few years ago.

Hmmmm, I want you to try Raglan, but it is for selfish purposes...I want to hear your opinion before trying it. I didn't realize Nine Dragons had been redone. I have never been interested in eating Chinese food at WDW for some reason.

I've never looked at the menu for Turf Club. I'll have to check it out.

I hear so many negative things about San Angel, I am askeered to try it!

So...I guess I am absolutely no help, am I? Looking forward to hearing some reviews!

Have a magical day!

I love the San Angel Inn, have been twice and am going again in January. We have not had a bad experience yet although I know a lot of people have. We had a nearly bad experience last time though, which I will share - the food was excellent. My mole got lost or burned or something. The waiter brought us two bowls of tortilla soup to keep us busy while we waited. It was excellent. Then after dinner he brought us flan as an additional suck-up gift. It worked. Wonderful meal, if long. The place is small and crowded, but it's supposed to feel like Mexico...order a margarita or two and you really won't care.

We've done Capn' Jack's once and it wasn't memorable except for feeling cramped. We had three kids and were stuck in the middle of things, had people bumping into us, and really did not like the ambiance at all - so much that I can't remember the food!

Hmmm...Nine Dragons - we ate there a long time ago and didn't like it so never went back.

I have a friend who adores Spoodles and goes every time they visit. We've never been, but I trust her judgement.

Just wanted to add that Nine Dragons is closing for rehab on 6th January (for almost a year  ) so might be a good time to try it. We had planned to eat there next April as we love chinese food but it is going to be closed :sad2:

From the restaurants on your list, we ate at Raglan Road and San Angel Inn last week. Both were great
We had been to San Angel Inn years ago and DH and DS wanted to go again. I nearly cancelled the ADR due to the volume of negative reviews here on the DIS. Well we went and we loved it. Food was very good and the service was perfect - attentive but not hovering. I did not find it too dark or too crowded. - No more so than Le Cellier IMO. This turned out to be the surprise of the week!
It was a first for us at Raglan Road. The food was very good, the service was fine (we are not demanding) and the entertainment was Outstanding. We made a late ADR so that we could experience the Irish Band and the Step Dancer and we very much enjoyed both.
I would go back to both of these any time.

We've actually not tried any of the restaurants you mentioned but we keep saying that we need to try San Angel!

I vote for San Angel myself. The ambiance is lovely, and the food's tasty too. Fair warning it is Mexican food, not tex-mex. A lot of people say they hate the food, but many times it's been coupled with the fact it wasn't what they were expecting.

And the flan is to die for!

Thanks everyone! It looks like San Angel Inn for my first one! I'm still not sure about the second, but it appears that Raglan Road gets a lot of votes. And we have the DDE card for discounts on drinks ;).

ETA: I was wrong about Nine Dragons. It will be closed next year to renovations instead of this year. I think I will wait until it re-opens to try it.
