We are a family of three and I'm thinking of getting APs. We're in NorCal and would likely drive instead of flying for our visits. Since we don't necessarily need all our visits to be on weekends, I was thinking of getting two Deluxe passes and one Signature (for parking and photopass). Would you even bother with the Signature pass? Is it useful to have parking if you're at a hotel within walking distance anyway?

We do that - I have the Signature pass to get the PhotoPassPlus pictures, and then the husband & kids have the deluxe. Remember the Signature also has higher discounts, so I'm also the one to buy everything (when possible).
We don't use the parking part of the Signature pass bc we always stay close enough to either walk, or even the ART is an option (though we've never used it).

For me it would cost $79 each visit to get the PPP One-Week (which I hands-down will purchase for EVERY trip with the kids).

With the Sig being $250 more than the Deluxe - in just 3 visits (with kids) that is already $237 of the price difference. Add in the extra discount and being able to have PPP during Adult-only trips as well, and for me it is a no-brainer to go ahead and do the Signature AP for one adult.

Having parking allows you to stay at hotels that are farther away, go directly to the parks if you arrive near park opening but before hotel check in, leave directly from the parks, and stop at the parks if you happen to be passing through the area. Even without the parking, if you take a lot of photos or like to buy ride photos, the photopass benefit alone is worth it to some people.

usually we get one signature & the rest of the family gets deluxe, so that one adult gets the discounts & parking & photopass. DH decided this year we're all getting deluxe, since we can get photopass when we purchase our trips through Costco (they did away with the dining vouchers...boo!). I think it's worth it to get the one signature pass, but got outvoted this time

I decided to go ahead and do it (one signature and two deluxes) only to run into problems with Disney's website. Stuck on Cowboy Woody telling me they're completing my request and the phone lines have a 30 minute wait. Where is the sad eeyore emoji for this? lol.

Aaaand after 33 minutes, they hung up on me.

I had the Cowboy Woody screen the first time I tried late last night. Then I got an email from my credit card company telling me my charge was denied due to suspected fraud ... Apparently it didn't fit my typical online purchases for me to make a $600 purchase after midnight my time.

There was a link in the email with the details of my charge, asking me to confirm or deny if I actually recognized the charge. I confirmed, then I closed the page with Woody, and had to submit the purchase again on Disney's website. The charge went through the second time. I checked on my credit card website to make sure only one charge went through.

The issue tonight might be due to volumes of activity but it's worth a shot to check if your charge is being denied by your credit card company.

Good luck :)

That's a good idea and I did call, but they didn't see an attempted charge from Disney. So between that and the long phone wait time (up to 45 mins last time I called), I think it's on their end. I've sent them an email, so maybe someone will call me tomorrow. I'm not really interested in purchasing APs tomorrow if I can't get the deal I was trying to purchase today. So, we'll see.

I just purchased 3 ap's for my kids and got through just fine. Maybe just try the whole process again? DH and I got ours on a parents only trip in January . . .he got a deluxe and I got the signature for the parking, pictures and higher purchasing discounts. For us the signature is totally worth it because we will use all of those benefits. Good luck.

Weird, I've tried different browsers, different credit cards, and different computers. I can't do anything to get it to process.

Yup, tried chrome and safari. Tried paying all at once and tried monthly. Nothing worked.

When did you try last?
It very well could have been at a time when the website was either having technical issues or was down for maintenance.

I tried from about 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm.

I'm sorry you were having tissue issues with their site. That is just so nerve racking! :faint:
I'm going with tech issues, most likely due to a high influx of people ordering tickets before the pricing going up, people simply ordering tickets and especially due to the AP special deadline.
I am on my cell, Android, and am using Chrome and most recently had no issues with going through the AP payment process.

Thanks, but I missed the lower price and extra month. If I can't get the same deal after spending 6 hours trying to give them $2K, I don't think I really want it anymore.

I had the exact same issue from midnight UK time to just before the price increase. Wouldn't accept any cards, on any browsers.

I called my credit card company and had the same response as above, Disney hadn't tried to take the money from our cards. Couldn't get through to Disney on the phones. I will be calling them later to complain, it may only be $40 but the cynic in me can't help but think they didn't want too many people buying annual passes before the increase.

That's crap that it happened to you too, though I am also relieved that it wasn't me doing something wrong. I'll call in the morning as well, I hope they have a way of still giving the old deal.

Okay, so I called this morning (30 minute wait) and spoke to a cast member who was very well-acquainted with the problem. I suspect it's most of the calls they're getting. She said they only have access to the new pricing, but she was taking guest names and contact information and a manager would be calling back within 24-48 hours. She asked for the browser type I was using and which devices I was trying on and whether I got stuck on the spinning Woody, and how many of what kind of passes I was trying to purchase. I would guess they're not going to call me back just to tell me they can't do it, but I couldn't say yet.

Thanks so much for coming on to update! I emailed as I can't keep calling from the UK and risking getting cut off like happened yesterday. And with the time difference I have asked them to provide me with a suitable time to call because most likely it will be in the middle of the night here when they try!

Hopefully they will come back to us both soon :)
