Last Day to Change Reservation

I have a three night reservation with a DxDP which begins May 7th and my payment in full date was this past weekend. Well work just told me they MAY need me back a day early. It’s not definite yet, but it’s super frustrating because they can’t give me a clear yes or no. I know at this point I would have to pay a change fee if I cut my trip a night short, but my question is when is the latest I can drop that last night without having to pay for the full night w/ dining plan?

I would think Disney would be understanding if something came up during your stay and you had to leave a day early. We decided to leave a day early and talked with the desk clerk the morning we wanted to leave without being charged. I imagine it’s a case by case situation.
