I'm pretty sure this is the card the op was talking about, the infinite privilege card is a different card, but also has a very similar promotion which was also extend to August 16.

I will have to check this out too. The one thing I liked about Aeroplan was you could book a trip that started in the US. Is it still that way? When we went to Hawaii we used Aeroplan and the flights out of the US were a lot better with just one stopover but the taxes were super cheap. Cost us $12.50 each for our round trip.

so reviving a thread. We did go ahead and both of us got the card. So 2 buddy passes, we are using them for our |July trip to Hawaii, the bonus points combined also got us the car rental for the 10 days,,,ya nice bonus.
My question, do I need both cards active when we fly for the buddy passes? We were supposed to go in March,,plans changed, now going in July we will be on the hook for both renewals. If I can cancel one, that would be great. If I have to swallow both, then so be it,,still a cheap flight and car rental.

I'm not sure what happens if you've already used the buddy pass for a future trip, but I do know if the buddy pass is unused, and you cancel the card, the buddy pass disappears.

The other option is to hold on to both cards until your trip, then call on to TD and switch the cards to no-annual fee cards. TD will give you a pro-rated refund. So if you pay the annual fee, and switch a month later, you'll get 11/12ths of the annual fee refunded.
