Today was my last day of nursing school
I graduate on Thursday April 30th
I am either #1 or 2 in class
It is a surprise they tell the 2 top students to write a speach just in case

I am so excited and proud to call my self a graduate nurse and hopfully soon pass the boards and be a NURSE

As a 16 year veteran of the nursing profession, I say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

Have you been able to find a job?

I just read an article today about how many nurses who were/are close to retirement are staying in the profession due to the recession, but once the recession ends the nursing shortage will be even greater due to those finally retiring and that nursing schools will be facing lower enrollments due to the current lack of jobs in the profession and cut backs by nursing schools.

Good luck on your boards.

Barb

Thank you
I am looking into some jobs
The long term care fac. around here hire new nurses

Congratulations!!! I'm just getting started, so I'm jealous. Good luck finding a job. :goodvibes

Congrats! I am waiting to hear if I will be accepted into the program for Fall or Winter semester. I sure wish I were in your shoes! :goodvibes

Congrats! You're done the easy part.:lmao: Now all you have to do is find a job.:scared1: Things were bad jobwise when I got out of school 13 years ago:eek:, and all you could find were jobs in nursing homes. I stuck it out as a nurses aide while I went back to school for a year to get my bachelor's degree. Almost the same week I was done school, I was offered a job--one which I never left!:goodvibes

I was #2 in my class and they made me talk too--I hated it.:scared: If you were #1 or 2, you should have no problem at all with the boards. I don't know if the procedure is the same as when I took them, but it took me a little more than 30 minutes and 75 questions and the computer shut off. If it shuts off after the minimum questions, 75, that usually means you got everyone wrong and should think about another career, or that you passed.;) I am sure you will do great, and welcome to our esteemed profession of wiping poop!:rotfl2: Just kidding, it's much more than that.:goodvibes

Congrats to you, nurses are absolutely amazing people. I couldn't do it myself (a weak tummy) but congrats to you!
