Last day character breakfast?

Our flight leaves at 1pm on our last day (Jan. 16) I'd LOVE to have a character breakfast for that last morning. Is it possible? What time would we be leaving our hotel? (we have magical express...they pick us up like 2 hours before our flight, right?)

We're at the ASMo. I had thought Chef Mickey's, but by the looks on the map, it's quite a jaunt from the hotel. Too far to travel to reasonably get back in time??

Opinions? We'll have a park ticket for the last day, and I can save a TS from the week if I can get something to work out for that morning. (all of my ADR's aren't set yet.)

TIA!! :worship:

Since your flight isn't until 1, the earliest you would be picked up at your resort would be 10am. It's 3 hours only if you're flying outside the US(like me). If you're flying domestically it wouldn't be until 11am.

If you wanted to make it happen do it. They do run resort-to-resort shuttles in the morning for early ADR's. You could get the first ADR at Chef Mickeys, enjoy breakfast, if you timed it right you could even get a ride or 2 in at MK before taking the bus back to the hotel.

I would say, get the most out of your trip. If this is something you wanted to do, go for it!

Enjoy your trip!

ME schedules your pick up for 3 hours in advance! Lucky you, we have a 7:00 am return flight, so that is 4:00 am for us! In your case, a 1:00 p.m return would mean 10:00 am. You could still do a breakfast, but to be on the safe side you should make your ADR by 8:00 am or earlier. ME requires that you are picked up from your hotel, so maybe you could take the bus from your hotel to the character breakfast, then, take a cab back to catch ME. Good luck and keep us posted.

It can be done, especially if you and your family are early risers.

CM begins serving breakfast at 7am. We were at the BC earlier this week, and on our last day, we took a cab at a cost fo about $15.00 for a 7:10 am ADR. All things considered, it was worth it, though getting a family of 6 up that early and squeezing everyone into a taxi may be a bit more difficult for you!

Have a great trip!

when I almost stayed at the All Stars, I would have had a similar pickup time and I also wanted to do a character breakfast but decided it would be cutting it to close with all the travel time. In one of my prior posts, someone recommended the Rainforest Cafe for breakfast...It is close to the All Stars, the bus will go directly there and back (to the AK), and the ambience is still fun...I had my ressies there until I ended up upgrading to the WL...but check out their AM menu...there were lots of reasonable offerings, and you'd have more time to relax a little around the resort :) Good luck with your choice!

You sure about that? I dont remember seeing any resort to resort buses even early, in Dec or Feb.. Maybe I missed them or something, but I dont remember them..

There are resort to resort buses. We almost always have gotten dropped at the resort from the MK bus for example when going to Chef Mickey's in the am. Also, if you are worried about being late to your pick up. Ask the CM at the resort about hopping on the next bus. Last Jan. we were told we could hop on any bus, we were ready early so we took an earlier bus since it was not packed. You may be able to take the next bus. The 3 hour time is to allow for pick ups and security check. If you check your baggage at the resort you cut your time but you still want to make sure you arrive early. pirate:

Our tradition has been Crystal Palace, you can get in before park opening.

So it was a park bus that stopped at CR for you? You didnt take a 'CR' bus from say, POP..

We are doing the Character Breakfast at O'hana's in the Polynesian on our last day but that is also where we are staying. The pineapple bread is yummy!! We really enjoyed it last time. Chef Mickey's is great too though but we just love the ambiance at the Poly and it's just another stop over on the monorail from the Contemp. I just wanted to share this as an option for you!

1) DME picks you up 3-hrs to 3¼-hrs prior to flight time, and ONLY at YOUR hotel. *
2) From Chef Mickey, figure 30-minutes via cab.
3) Assuming you are checked-out, luggage given to DME, and ready to go before breakfast
. . . 5-min to get from restaurant to front cab area
. . . 15-min cab ride
. . . 10-min line-up for DME bus
4) Be aware that the DME bus does not wait for you!
5) If you are not in line when the bus comes, it takes off.
6) You may or may not be able to catch the next bus at the resort
. . . it might be full
. . . if no reservations to airport, it might not even stop at your resort
. . . if the bus is missed, you can miss your flight without any reimbursement

* The DME rule is 3-hrs, but each resort is on a different scheduled pick-up time. So, your actual time may be earlier than 3-hrs. Example: Your resort may pick-up at 10-min-after and 40-min-after the hour, and not on-the-hour and on-the-half-hour.

Thanks everyone. I think we'd better pass, just to run on the safe side. I had been feeling like that would be too much, I was still hoping to try. I'll feel better if we're not so rushed. Dh won't go for a cab, and since we're on the DP, an OOP breakfast doesn't seem real appealing to him either, esp. on the last day. I appreciate your opinions and advice!!

So, any opinions/advice for what we do have time for on the last morning? Last time we went to WDW, we stayed at the Boardwalk, and we were able to enjoy the water, and finish some shopping. I'm not sure what to expect at the ASMo. Would we have time to hit any parks?

Thanks a bunch!!:thanks:

I would say that if you want to get up early and check your bags in with bell services for the DME pick-up, you should be able to get an hour or two in the parks safely. You'd probably want to be on the first bus or two from ASM in the am though. I don't know much about the All-Star resorts as I have never stayed there. :confused3
