Last Comic Standing

I missed it - we had other things going on. I never thought Dat was particularly funny, and I would never go to see him perform, or pay money to see something he does. His style just does nothing for me. I really enjoyed Ralphie, Cory and Rich on the last show. Dave Mordal was my favorite from day 1. Any of the 4 of them I would go see in a minute. I guess we'll see who truly is the Last Comic Standing in a few years and we see where their careers lead.

Dave was my favorite from the start as well. He took everyday things and made them funny. The power bit was great and other one about snow or something like that was great. Very dry humor. I didn't like Ralphie until last week. But being a political piece probably did hurt him in the long run and last night's was funny as well. When he left "da Hood" he was funny. Cory's stuff was good also because people could relate to it.

I was pleased to see Ralphie and Dat make the final two, although I thought Dave was also very funny. Dat gave a most heartfelt speech in the first episode of the show about growing up in poverty and how great it was to be in America to have the opportunity to make money by making people laugh. I think Dat is kind of a "one-note-johnny" with that impression of his mother.
Perhaps having a manager and being surrounded by professionals will help him develop his act. Ralphie, on the other hand, is a genuinely funny guy. I'd be sad to think his physical appearance might have worked against him

Unfortunately I think Ralphie's physical appearance did play largely into his loss on the show. And while I thought he was very funny, Ralphie's may problem was that his style was too broad...in other words watching him was often like watching a comedy seizure.

Dat...while I thought funny as well, I doubt has the legs to carry much of a big time career. He does appear to be a one trick pony and as sad as it sounds the world already has Margaret Cho...so Dat's routine is already played out wihout his ever doing it.

Dat Phan is not even funny!!! He shouldn't have even been in the top 10!!! I loved this show, until that annoying person beat the person who should have won - Dave! Dave was hilarious...no way he should have been out so soon. Him, Voss, Ralphie and Tess all should have been the top 4. I can't believe America voted that way...I bet it was fixed!

Did anyone see Dat on the Tonight Show? He wasn’t too bad, but pretty much used the same material AGAIN. He did add something about nail salons which was pretty funny, but that’s the idea he got from Corey. His career is going to be over very fast if he doesn’t get some new material – and I don’t think he can come up with anything on his own.

I actually voted for Corey. I think people didn't like how mean everyone was to Dat . Ralphy was just too sure he was going to win. Tess stunk last week!

I hope this exercise helped all the comedian's careers. I started watching lately, but excuse me, these people weren't really that funny so it was hard for me to choose a winner.

My DH says Dat Phan's schtick is the same as Maragaret Cho has been doing for eons!

I liked them both, but based on the final performance to vote on, Ralphie was the only one who really made me laugh.

I just saw an ad in my local paper that Rich Vos, Kory Kahaney and Dave Mordahl are doing a local show here together in September. Maybe I'll check them out

I liked Ralphie the best, and was somewhat surprised that he did not win.

However, I DID like Dat's routine, his energy & excitment, although his material was a bit stereotypical (but I guess one can get away with stereotyping one'sself)

I liked Tess' material, but I though her "ghetto chick" delivery was her undoing. She's smart as a whip, but I think her delivery makes her look like an unintelligent boob. If that's intentional, I think it's a mistake.

Cory - boooooooooring.
