I just can't believe Dat Phan won. I personally didn't find him that funny.

Anyone else watch the show and what did you think of the outcome?

I was quite happy to see Dat win, although I didn't think his performance tonight was that great.

Straight comedy, Dat would have lost. But as the underdog he pulled in the votes.

I thought that the whole show tonight was one of the best and funniest of all the shows. I had voted for Ralphie and Cory for the two finalist. Up until last week I had not liked Ralphie's act but last week was really funny and I think he thought he would win from the very beginning. Tess was funnier earlier in the series and not that funny last week. some of Dat's stuff was hard to understand what he was saying. But it was a good show.

Yea I wasn't too happy either. It's great that he won after what he went through, but he honestly wasn't all that funny. And he used the same comedy sketches over again while everybody had fresh stuff. Rlaphie or Rich should have won.

I was SOOOO mad he won!!!!

Not funny...very weird...Ralphie or Corey should have won.

We turned it over when it came down to Ralphie and Dat. I can't believe Dat won. My dh and I think it must be a youth thing. We couldn't believe it when Dat beat Dave. Someone on the show said it was because Dat appealed to a younger crowd and that must of been the people that voted. We got to see the end of our new must see show "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" that show is a hoot!

I was really disappointed too. The only thing funny about Dat was his accent when he imitated his mother. I feel really sorry for the other comics since they know they are funnier than he is. Plus, he's such a weird guy! I am going to try to watch him on Jay Leno tonight, just out of curiousity.

If the voting were solely based on last week's sets I would rank the comics in the following order. I don't think Ralphie was that funny last week and Dat repeated some of his previous material.

1) Rich
2) Corey
3) Dat
4) Ralphie
5) Tess

I have to agree with your list!

I thought that Ralphie's last set was brilliant. Based on their final performances (which didn't count towards the vote), I would have picked him over Dat.

DW Sue made an interesting comment about Dat Phan. All he has to do is drop into his stereotypical Vietnamese "accent" and anything that he says gets a laugh. To me, that's not comedy. Ralphies rant on fat/skinny people was inciteful and extremely funny.

DD Sarah accurately predicted the voting order of the finalists. I can't watch TV with her. She always seems to know the outcome.

When I saw Dat go against Dave a few weeks back, I got the sinking feeling that he was going to win. Who knew?

Boo Hiss!! That was my reaction last night. The future should be interesting....I predict that Rich and Ralphie have bigger comedy careers than Dat, winner or not!

I only watched the ending of last night's finale because I was watching Big Brother from 8-9. What did they do for that first hour? Dave Mordal was my favorite from the beginning of the show. That whole bit about the power going out making people temporarily stupid had me smiling for days after the first episode :D . Once Dat beat him, I was rooting for Rich Voss. Never really liked Ralphie much. As someone else pointed out, Dat never had any fresh materiel. It gets old real quick.

I really, really, really thought Ralphie was going to win. I couldn't help but wonder if it was the material he chose last week (the war) which may have turned some people off.

I guess making fun of your mother and her accent is more PC. ;)

The cynic in me knows that these voting things all come down to a popularity contest (which is I suppose they're set up to be) so I have a hard time watching them at all.

Another reason I didn't was the simple fact that apparently "amature status" meant nothng in the choosing of the comics.

With most of these talent shows all the contestants are amatures...or at best not under contracts with anybody. With Last Comic Standing that wasn't the case. I've seen at lease 80% of the comics on the show in other venues INCLUDING television. Heck Rich was on Colin Quinn's lame show on Comedy Central!

I guess I'm a trifle jaded. That and I had friends that went to the audition and weren't even given twenty seconds to do material. So they had no real way of knowing who was worth taking in the beginning or not.

I liked Dat but like other's have said I think it was an under-dog thing. I thought Rich was funny too.

DH fell asleep!! It was a looooong boring 2 hours of absolutely nothing . . .

I don't think Dat is funny at all . . .he has the same stupid material. Wouldn't you have liked to see his mom stand up and start talking like that?

I personally wouldn't watch him on a show, but I wouldn't watch Ralphie either.

I did like Rich and Corey though I would of picked one of them.

Oh well.

Well, at least we can all take comfort in the knowledge that Dat Phan's newfound career will drop into the toilet in no time flat. He hasn't got the personality (any personality for that matter) to do anything with that TV contract he won. I've never seen a comedian that got so little enjoyment out of what he does. The week he got challenged by everyone and did an act that consisted of nothing more than imitating his mother yelling at him about his decision to become a comedian (not funny, just sad) he should have been off the show. Once again, America shows that it has absoultely no idea how to spot real talent.
