You guys are my kindred spirits. I love anything southern...especially books. I also love mysteries and thrillers. I just recently discovered the Stephanie Plum series and love it. I also tend to read Mary Higgins Clark, Dean Koontz, Grisham and James Patterson. Or really anything that strikes my fancy.

I'm not too picky.
Dr. Seuss has got to be my all time favorite though. So Paul, I'd be happy to learn ya.
I totally agree with you on Jurassic Park, I was greatly disappointed in that. I also find the same with Stephen King novels, very rarely do they do the books justice. Lord of the Rings is awesome, I already have The Two Towers as well. Between LOTR and HP, I drive my DH nuts. Gotta have the books and the movies. Although, sweetie that he can be when he chooses to, he just bought me the new Stitch movie. Gotta love Stitch.
Not sure how much reading I'll get done on the cruise either. Reading at the pool with a drink in your hand can be dangerous....for the book. LOL Last cruise, I forgot where I was for a second and nearly set my book down...right in the water.

LOL
Well, hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend. I'll be hanging close to home, was diagnosed with walking pneumonia and still recovering. Although I'll probably sneak in a trip to the Renaissance Festival sometime this weekend. Sshhhh...don't tell my doctor.
