It's all about getting together with DIS friends anyway. It's a day at sea on the Magic with good friends and a few laughs. How bad can that be??

Count us in. We're celebrating my birthday (Cindy on 10/6). We're in 6058. It was gty until I checked today and found that we have an actual room #. Yipee!

Thanks for hosting!!! Are you sure there isn't anything we can bring?

I booked directly with Disney so I can check my reservation status online. If you booked through a TA they should be able to check for you.

OK........call me stupid, but I just have to know.......what is a GTY? Also, how is it that we were asked what room we wanted? Once we picked a cat., DCL asked us what room we wanted.

DOn't worry Paul, we still want you to bring some wine from Oregon! We can do a wine trade! We will bring some MI wine again and you can bring us some from OR!!

Beano- Happy Everything sounds fine to me! You are so sweet to do this for all of us...I am sure I can speak for the group when I say thank you in advance and don't worry too much about it! Cake and champagne sounds great!

DCL books GTY rooms when there are very few or no rooms left in a specific category. They make the assumption that some guests will cancel and they'll be able to reassign those rooms. If not they will book the guest in a better category.

I wish I had known that last June, when I booked this thing. Oh well, live and learn. Do you ususally get "bumped up"? Do you have to pay the difference?????

Beano, I hope I didn't make you feel guilty. Although it is my responsibilty to annoy as many people as possible in my lifetime. I just wanted to make sure you weren't having a party and you told everyone not to tell Rose. You wouldn't believe how often that happens to me. Or people say, "Come to my party",
and then they never give me directions to their home. I am sure they just forget over and over and over again.

We will be there for the sailaway party, tropical drinks in hand.

Okay, I probably should go back to my own thread now. I really don't belong on this thread but does that stop me.......NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Spud, Thanks for the info. I called my AAA rep and she called Disney. They told her I won't find out my room assignment until I either get my docs, or the day of the cruise. Lucky you.... Did you get upgraded?

No upgrade for us, but I really didn't expect one. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

My B-day is Nov 29. I wont bore you with my age.

It's my understanding from AAA that if you get upgrated from GTY cat 11 it is a free Upgrade. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get the upgrade, although I don't plan to spend much time in my cabin.

I made my final payment yesterday, so I am officially part of the cruise now! It would be neat to get an upgrade, but I hope to not be spending much time in the room. For us it came down to get a window view and only go on a 4 day cruise, or get no window and go on a 7 day. Glad we picked no window otherwise I would not have been part of this group! Rena

Hey Beano, My son's b-day is the 28th of Nov. His due date was the 29th, but he missed it. He thinks it is neat being a "turkey-baby".


Spud, thanks for the info on the upgrade. Next time I'll just pick a cat. We don't spend much time in the room either, but moved to a cat. 10 this time, for the extra bathroom....since there are 4 of us.

Wow! Everyone has something special to celebrate! So cool that we get to do it together! Beano is a wonderful host!

We are in a cat 10 and would love an upgrade (who wouldn't!) but we don't get our hopes up! We like the cat 10's ....they fit us!

Okay guys, July is almost over....one more X on my calendar is coming next week and closer we get to our trip!

I am excited about these cruises too, but give Beano time to pay fer 'em!!

It wouldn't be that bad, but what you don't realize is that I took 10 extra days of vacation to go to Michigan this year, and that cost more than 4 cruises!! (Might seem strange to some people, but Michigan seriously rocks!)

So many anniversaries, so many birthdays....
I am really starting to think we should have a party for everyone, and just make the theme of it...

Someone call concierge and tell them to bring that cake to Beano's room right away!!
