I did not realize there was such a large group already on this site going before I posted my thread...... I will be going with my husband and 2 year old daughter. This is our first time.... We were not sure about going at this time of the year, but decide what the heck lets do it.

I am checking into whether I should keep my transfer of $49 for my husband and I through Disney since we are coming down a day early. I am not sure if there is something cheaper.... Any suggestions?Hotels? Also we are wait listed for the 6:30 dinner. Do we have a good chance of getting in? How often does it happen where you get bumped up to a higher category?

Thanks for your help.....

Rena Ted and Calina

Hi Rena !! Welcome to our group.

This is a great time of year to cruise! This will be our 4th Disney cruise in October, and we have always had great weather and a great time!

As for your question, I have to say that I am not a big fan of Disney transfers. You have to wait until they have a full bus load of people, so you are at the mercy of the other passengers.
You can get a private towncar for the same money, and travel in comfort and privacy, and on your own time schedule, not Disney's!
Or, spend a little more, and treat yourself to a limo. :)

We'll be staying at the Radisson hotel for 2 nights before our cruise. They have a free shuttle to the port, and it's only a 5 minute ride. It's a very nice hotel with a great pool and a nice restaurant.

Welcome aboard!!

Thanks for all the information....It makes me feel good that you have cruised multiple times in October. I noticed on this thread that a lot of you know each other very well. Does anyone have young kids like us (2 year old)?

Rena, as far as I know, most of us have older kids...

Ours are 13 (DS)and 11 (DD). Most of the other kids are in that range as well, I think. Maybe from 8 yrs. old up into the teens.
Have I forgotten about any other young 'uns?? :)

Some of us know each other pretty well, and we're excited to be vacationing together again. This will be our 3rd cruise with Paul and Pam (paulcrsb). We have been on the Magic with them the last 2 years. It will also be our 3rd cruise together with Kamy (kamgen) and her DH, Tim (tarzanman), and we are vacationing with them this summer in Michigan. They are both a tremendous pain in the butt, however we don't want to hurt their feelings so we keep doing stuff with them. ;)

5 months from now this vacation will be in full swing!! In fact, 5 months from today, we will be between cruises and hanging out at WDW... with Tim and Kamy!

This is going to be our first cruise also. We will be traveling with our 3 yr old son and 8 month old baby :O) We will be arriving the night before and renting a car. I think we will be staying at the Radisson too. We are waitlisted for the early sitting but I'm still decising if maybe we should keep the late seating.

Serena, Todd, Jacob(3) and Alyssa(8 month at time of cruise).

Glad to know there are others joining with small kids. Our daughter is 2. Our first time also. I am hoping to get in on the early seating and heard there are good chances if you get to the boat early and change it then. I am going to keep checking with DCL to see if there are any openings. We are also looking to rent and stay at the Radisson if I can get a good rate. Rena

So gald to see some other posters!
This has turned into the Beano, kamy, paul and tarzanman thread LOL!!:D

It's great to see that our group is growing!

Serena-I have an Alyssa too (but she's 12).

We're planning to fly in on Friday , rent a car and probably stay at the Radisson as well. If I come across a good rate for a car or the Radisson, I'll be sure to post it.

Only 153 more days...

Thanks Spud! I will do the same for you also. I'm so excited about this cruise.....this will be our 1st ever. I've become addicted to these boards and any other site that helps me plan this trip.
$89 is the lowest I've found the Radisson for....have you seen it go any lower? Should I book now or wait until the date is closer? :)

$89 is pretty good, I have seen low as $59, but that was last fall. I think you can book the $89 and then cancel and rebook if something cheaper turns up.

I found some codes to use for car rentals on mousesavers.com (not sure if it is saver or savers). I too am addicted to this board. I will feel much better once all the small details are taken care of!
