So we had a reservation for Storytellers, but now I see they no longer offer a la carte.

We don't want a buffet; not for the expense, or the quantity of food.

I do want a nice, or enjoyable, atmosphere. And table service (part of the reason I don't like buffet is having to deal with 3 kids and their plates; I do that every day at home).

Currently I've switched us to Rainforest Cafe, not my first choice for ambiance but the kids (2, 6 & 8) will get a kick out of it. But I also see Steakhouse 55 has breakfast. Thoughts? Other ideas??

STeakhouse 55 gets my vote most trips. Reasonable prices, great food, great service.

DH and I LOVE. LOVE, LOVE breakfast at Steakhouse 55, we live close enough that we just go there for breakfast dates for the heck of it, when our schedule allows it. It is a really nice place, but nothing Disney about it... I can see how a kid could find it boring, especially with Goofy's Kitchen right next door can be some what of a tease.

Now, DD (4) prefers Rainforest Cafe, it is fun for kids, the food is ok. The prices are pretty much the same at both locations. I recommend reservations for RF.

While we really enjoy Steakhouse 55, we also enjoy breakfast at La Brea Bakery. Good service, nice patio atmosphere, good people watching. The kids enjoyed it a lot, too. And the proximity to bag check and the esplanade can't be beat! Finish up, then head right to the parks. :)

We currently have ressies for Surf's Up our last morning not in the parks (do they still do ala carte?)

But now maybe I will look into this Steakhouse 55...

Thanks for the input! I hadn't considered La Brea ( it was never early enough prior to park entry on our last visit!)...good news is we DO have some options :)

Where is Steakhouse 55 located? Im guessing you all recommend this for breakfast lunch and dinner??

How far outside the parks are you thinking for breakfast? Mimi Cafe's (on Harbor by the Fairfield Inn) has a nice breakfast.

We also ate a late breakfast at Steakhouse 55 last trip. Steakhouse 55 is located in the Disneyland Hotel, FYI. It was very good, and the restaurant was very quiet, with excellent service.

If you are looking at Goofy's, look to the right, and there is a little podium. It is there.

They serve breakfast and dinner. You can eat in the bar/lounge for lunch.

Lol, we're actually staying at the Fairfield :). So we'll take a peek at Mimi's for sure!

I was hoping for some sort of 'Disney' ambiance as we won't be doing the parks that day (don't feel bad for us we're headed to the Disney Wonder!).

With the car rental in downtown Disney I thought we'd just head that way...the boys will want to peruse the Lego store. I wanted to revisit the Grand as it wasn't in the cards this trip! Oh well.

I think Steakhouse 55 would be the best choice for my DH and I, but hesitate to bring in what-will-be 3 very tired kids.

Well, if you want to walk through GCH, try White Water Snacks. No eggs benedict or omelets, but they have Mickey waffles.

If you are staying at the Fairfield, then Mimi's is a good choice.

If you would like a Disney breakfast, my choice would be either Steakhouse 55 or La Brea Bakery. I prefer Steakhouse 55, however, La Brea Bakery will give you more of the 'Disney' vibe because you'll be eating outside, and can people watch.

Steakhouse 55 has good quality breakfasts, and great service. Plus, it seems to never be crowded for breakfast.

We love Mimi's for breakfast, especially the pomagranate juice with the Cava, or Mimosas. Also love their corned beef hash for a side choice.

We LOVE breakfast at Steakhouse 55. It's very elegant and a nice way to start the day.

Mimi's is good but my family actually preferred Millie's, which is down the block. It was not as interesting atmosphere wise, but the food was good and less expensive than at Mimi's. My husband actually liked the food better at Millie's.

I'm a Mimi's for breakfast fan too. We usually eat there before we hit the road for the long drive home...
