Why oh why did it take me nearly 30 years to try this??!!!!! This was one of the funnest experiences I have had. I am already planning on taking my older 2 kids later this summer.

Just to clarify, the reason I asks is. . .


I have 15 kids and took them to the local place recently- "The Baldknob Livestock Auction, Beauty Solon, and Lazer Tag Emporium".


Don't get me wrong; the kids had fun. And I as I sat there in a lawn chair knocking back Pabst beers, I was proud as punch watching my oldest Smary win by taking out Smike, Stodd, Ssheri Slou, and the other kids.



The problem was, they only had 14 of them laser guns, and I have 15 young uns, so the youngest, poor Little Skeeter, had to play only using a fly swatter.


He tried his best; running and jumping and hiding behind goats. . . but it wasn't long before his big brother Stoby took him out.

Poor little feller never stood a chance.


To this day, he'll come up to me of the evening with tears in his eyes and say, "Daddy, why did I only get a fly swatter when the bigger kids got them fancy guns?"


I'll tell ya, I don't know what to tell him and it just breaks my heart seeing him so sad.

In fact, I have to send him to bed and turn up the sound on 'Sports Center' to keep from crying myself.


So today, Skeeter was out on the porch eating his supper of pork rinds and store-brand cola, and I told him I was going on the interwebs to see if anyone knew of a laser tag place with 15 laser guns. The little feller was happier than a boy on a bison!



So if anyone can help me out, me and Little Skeeter would be much obliged.

Where did you try it?

Tell Little Skeeter not to fret. If he is anywhere near Sacramento, California, we have a place called Sunsplash. They have a large lazer tag area upstairs. If your Skeeter was here, he would have had his own game. Or they might have divided up the children in the name of fairness. Best of luck as you muffle the sounds of his tears with sports center.

Sacramento's a fair piece from Bald Knob, but we're going to check the bus schedule and see what we can do.

Little Skeeter is so excited, he asked me, "Daddy, where's Californy?"

And I says, "I guess it's the place we ought to be!"

He laughed and laughed.

I agree! I love laser tag! Discovered it about five years ago. Fun!

My kids loved laser tag, but that was nearly 20 years ago.. I had to Google it, a few of the places are still open near me. Not as popular as it once was.

I played quite frequently when I was in college and after. We went every week for the late night "iron man" games, which were 45 minutes long. My friends and I got quite good at this particular version. The place just closed up like a week ago after years of being on the decline.

There is a new bowling place that has it now, but I haven't even been in there yet.

Airsoft ftw! It can hurt a little but the realism can't be beat. You pick from an assortment of hundreds of real life replica firearms that fire fully auto BBs, a bit like a more realistic paintballing. The guns are all magazine fed and each player often has a side arm for when they are caught out between magazines. Players usually wear camo gear and equip themselves with radio devices and play in the woods or, in the case of CBQ games, in bunkers.

Imagine paint balling but way more realistic, less painful and more fun pretending to be Mr. Big Shot.

There is so many different kind of laser tags too. I do wish they explain the game a lot more though. I played once, sat at the enemy base shooting their base target for about a min just to make sure i win the game...
