I am attending a seminar in Las Vegas this winter, and I can't find anyone who can go with me. Anyone want to go?

Anyway, I am a little nervous about being there alone. I am going to stay at the hotel where the seminar is, but the conference is only from 9-4, and I don't plan on staying in my room for the rest of the evening. There are a couple of shows I would love to see, and I really enjoy checking out all the resorts.

Do you think I will be safe going out alone, especially at night, in Las Vegas?

hey Denae, PM when youre going. I have to be there in December maybe we can tackle the town together :)

Denae -

We went there in June for DH's conference. We walked both sides of the strip up and down. As long as you stay on the main streets, you should be fine.

There are very well marked walking paths on the strip and there were lots of families as well as singles - I never ever felt worried or nervous the whole time we were there and I had both kids with me and my MIL.

Have fun!

ps - see the Celine Dion show at Caesars - it was awesome!

That is one of the shows I want to see. I also want to see O at the Bellagio. I saw Siegmund and Roy and the Rick Springfield  show (I can't remember the name) at MGM Grand when I was there in 2002.

One of the safest places you will ever be are the main tourist areas of Las Vegas. Inside the casinos themselves people routinly leave hundreds if not thousands of dollars sitting on tables while they go to the bathroom. Outside on the streets are a non-stop wall of people, police and security.

I agree - I have never once felt unsafe in Vegas. Frequently DH and I will go to a casino together and he'll decide to play poker longer than I want to be there. So I go back to our hotel alone. There are people out and about all hours of the day and night. Its one of the safest places you can go. At least that's how I feel. Now if you venture off the strip - not so sure. But other than going to Fremont street you really shouldn't ever need to leave the strip. If you do, take a cab.

I am a woman who has made many trips to Las Vegas alone and never have had any problems and I have been out sometimes to 2:00 in the morning :woohoo:

I agree! You'll be fine. My neighbor went to Vegas for a convention in April by herself and she actually ended up meeting the man of her dreams! He's moving here in a couple of months to be with her!
