Las Vegas question Don't know if this is the right place

Ok, I'm getting mixed answers on this! If I go to the pool, and order a simple drink like a Malibu Bay Breeze or kamakaze shot, how much will it be? Is it more or less at a club? What about at a restaurant? What is the average price for a normal alc. drink? I want to have a good time, but I don't want to spend all my money on a few drinks!!!! LOL

Drinks at a Vegas pool are pricey. They have to make up for all the freebies they give away in the casino.

At the Paris pool two years ago, a 10-12oz daquiri was $13 plus tip. You could get a BIG one (about 2.5 times the size) for $20 plus tip.

So one person is saying $4-$5 and another is saying $13-$20 - LOL See what I mean about mixed answers!!! LOL LOL I mean, if its true that the pool drinks are just insanely more than the drinks at the bar right down the hallway, I have no problem going down the hallway....

I don't recommend going on vacation if a $10 drink is of concern but that's just me.

Pardon me? I'm not allowed to have a drink while on vacation, or are you saying that I'm cheap for not wanting to order $10 shot? If I have 3-4 shots, and my husband has 3-4 shots (or normal drinks, not sure what the night will bring) that will total up to $80 not including tips.

Sorry, I'm just trying to get a feel for pricing. Most restaurants have the dollar signs next to their names in the books, but no where tells you what drink prices are. And really, if you don't have something helpful or constrictive to post, why post anything at all? I guess some people out there really are sad and pathetic. Thanks for the great welcoming!! :woohoo:

Sorry, it seems a little odd to research drink prices before a vacation. I am giving you my honest answer. If I was that concerned about the budget to question the cost of a few drinks I would not feel comfortable going on vacation.

I've paid around $10 for drinks in Vegas but I've always gone to the nicer hotels/bars/clubs. I'm sure there are many cheap places off of the strip to get drinks.

As I'm sure you realize, there are ways to say things. You could say the same thing, two different ways, and get two totally different reactions from someone. You were trying to be rude, and make yourself feel big. I feel bad for people like you, really, I do.

Anyway, yeah, having one $10 drink isn't a big deal to me. But if I want to go out several nights, and have several $10 drinks, that will take a big bite out of my spending budget. I'm just trying to get a feel for what I'm going to run into. As I said, I've already checked out the restaurants, and they tell you their pricing. We will be going to Sensi, and BOA, two places that are both $$$ according to my book.

Sorry to have bothered you.

And just to clarify - the only reason I was asking is because I spoke to several people, and half said one thing, and the other half said another. I thought coming here, I might get a better idea of the truth. Sorry.

Little harsh, doncha think?? Why didn't you just tell her to throw a 40oz in a paper bag and stand around with the other bums?

OP, I see no problem with researching any and all when it comes to a vacation. For pete's sakes, we have threads here asking about refillable mugs, bringing crock pots in hotel rooms, and how many people you can stuff into a value room!

Thanks, I was worried that I was being a little over sensitive. I just want some info to help me budget MY money (we have everything seperated between food money and our own spending money), and unfourtinatly, I got someone who felt the need to put others down for no real reason. Welcome to the real world I guess - even in Disney! lol

Funny you should mention that, sunnyday13 ;).

While I wouldn't recommend bringing one's own bottle to the pool without checking the hotel's rules first (it's probably not okay, but who knows - what happens in Vegas and all :teeth: ), there's no reason you can't bring your own made-in-the-room supersize drink down with you. In fact, I think I'm going to get one of those refillable "water" bottles at CVS with the freezable core... Or, especially if whatever your shot-of-choice is happens to be clear, pour it into an empty water bottle and shoot away poolside :lmao:. Seriously.

I like the way you think!!! LOL I'm getting there on a plane with just carry ons, so I can't bring it with me, but I could probably buy it somewhere just off the strip. Only thing is, I can't drink anything straight (the shot I like is a kamakazi, which is a few different things, not exactly sure what) so I would have to mix stuff.... I can mix salsa, I could always try mixing a drink!!! Can you tell I never drink? lol I met my husband when I was 20, and never really got do to the "bar thing" so now that I'm getting a bit older, I've fallen into it a bit, and I'm starting to like it. Its fun to just go to the bar, hang out with some friends, and have a few drinks. Of course, I don't want to leave half my wallet there when I'm done! :scared1:

Thanks for the idea!

I was going to suggest posting your question on the Las Vegas board in the Disneyland section but I see you've already done that! You'll probably find some people over there who recently went to Vegas and can tell you about the drink prices. There's an outdoor bar in the plaza at Casear's that's a good place to stop and rest your feet during the day. I recall that the 12 oz. pina coladas were $8 and the 16 oz. ones were around $12.

I am pretty sure you can pack as many of those tiny bottles as you can find! I may also know that they can be made into a necklace with some tulle. :rolleyes1

Well, where are you staying? That's going to have an effect on the cost of the drinks, as is the drink itself. A kamikaze, with multiple liquors, is going to cost more than a Grey Goose & tonic, and that's going to cost more than a plain old vodka tonic where the drinker doesn't care about the brand.

Also, if you're at the center Strip or south Strip, there's a Walgreen's about a third of the way between MGM and Planet Hollywood on the east side of the Strip, and a CVS across the street from it right by the Monte Carlo. Both carry mainly souvenirs, so either will have large drinking vessels ;)

Only price I remember is having paid $13 for a cocktail at one of the Caeser Palace bars. Have fun! (Btw. I research meal/drink prices too before I go) :)
