Ok, so this movie is a couple of years old...but i just got around to seeing it on Showtime the other day. This is such a sweet movie, not at all what I expected. I don't know if Ryan Gosling was nominated for anything, but he should have been. So if you want to watch a really good movie (and it's appropriate for family), give this one a try. I think I may actually buy it.

I just watched it recently for th first time too. Liked it more then I expected.

Another thumbs up. :thumbsup2 We really enjoyed it.

It's so funny because I've seen it now a couple of times and nobody I ask ever seems to have heard of it! It is good. There are some wierd parts but I love how his friends and family just accept the 'girl'. Really nice.

LOVED that movie, saw it in the theatre actually. It was so great, a really interesting story.

It was nominated for best screenplay @ the Oscars in '08
and Gosling was nominated for best actor @ the Golden Globes & SAG awards :thumbsup2

I will admit that the acting was excellent. However, the movie, dumb, OMB. Sorry guys. Ryan Gosseling is one of the best young actors out there. The other actors also in the movie were excellent.

I loved this movie too! It's a great concept and it was beautifully acted. I appreciated how it respected the viewer's intelligence and didn't take the obvious path.

It is an odd story, but I really liked it. We used clips from it for several weeks at church during a series about people in communities loving one another.

I love coming back from a full day of shopping out of town and find my thread hasn't been buried three pages back :)
I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who found this movie really charming. I just wanted to start a thread about it because I just watched it out of boredom, no one had suggested it to me and I would have missed out if I wasn't bored that day. Anyway, I like to read others movie suggestions and share my own.

I saw it a few years ago and loved it. It was so sweet, and everyone in that town treated each other with such tenderness and affection. *Sigh* If only real life was more like that.
