We are a party of 13 (adults and children) all staying at the BC. This is our first time in this area and I haven't eaten at any of the resturants. We're hoping to do a few nice sit down dinners for the group together. Both of my sisters refuse to give any input because "anything I pick will be just fine", but I am stressing on the best places:

So I'm asking for the experts favorites in the BC/BW area. I was thinking Spoodles, but using search I couldn't find any recent reviews and the current menu looked soewhat sparse. Has anyone recently enjoyed dining at Spoodles?

I'm dying to try Flying Fish, but was afraid it might be too formal for a large boisterous group. Any thoughts?

Tha Yachtsman? Bluezoo?

Help?

I think Spoodles is a great choice....

We went in Aug...and it is one of my new favorites....the food was
really good....very pleasantly surprised.

then you have the action of the boardwalk when your done with dinner.
Enjoy

IMHO, NOT too much happening on the boardwalk....dead, sort of!

I really like Flying Fish it is by far my favorite in the Epcot area. It is not overly formal but it is certainly quiter than Spoodles. If food is your primary reason for going on to dinner and you want to have a great meal and good wine than go to FF. If it is more just to get together as a group and have fun than go to Spoodles. Spoodles is less expensive also.

Our family likes the menu at the Yachtsman if we are in the BW area. We can't find much at Spoodles to eat, so I'm not sure its a great choice for 13 people, at least one is liable to be picky. Why aren't you considering the restaurants in Epcot? If you were I'd recommend Biergarten - that would be a fun place for a large group. You would need two tables, but I bet they could be right next to each other. Or you could try for LeCellier - good food. You could also easily get to Disney Studios and try Prime Time or Mama Melrose.

I personally wouldn't rule out any of the on-property restaurants. It would take a little longer to get there but I think Ohana is GREAT for large groups. So is Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. Whispering Canyons is fun with a lot of people to - its at the Wilderness Lodge.

There's way more information than you asked for - sorry

I've had dinner with large groups -- more than 15 people -- at both Spoodles and Cape May. Both worked out well, but it was a little easier at Cape May because it it a buffet. At Spoodles, it was a challenge to keep everyone on the same course.

I can't quite figure out how to quote so I hope I am doing this right.

on property resturants
-- I love some of the choices for on property places (especially Whispering Canyon!), but I really think we should try and stay in the Epcot easily-commutable area. Given we are 3 families who will probably split up a portion of the day, I think being located near the hotel will work best.

Epcot resturants
I would like to spend one night at an Epcot resturant, and then go see Illuminations but didn't want to ask too much info in one thread! I'm interested in Biergarten-- could we get our own tables? (I heard you sit at long tables with other people). Would we be able to talk or are you watching a show?

We are doing the MGM Fantasmic dinner package one night (the only ADR I actually have made!)

We were thinking of doing the character breakfast there. How was the dinner options?

No information is too much! I appreciate it all!

Based on your last post and your first one too.

We had a group of 11 that were not "boisterous" but we wanted to have a good time. It was a dinner for various groups of both sides of a family so there was a lot of "what have you been up to" stuff. Cape May Buffet was perfect for us. We were at two tables next to each other - one for six and one for four. The best thing was one side of the table was a long bench and there was an opening between the two tables so those on the bench side could easily slide out for the buffet. We had all kinds of different appetites and everyone enjoyed it.

Biergarten - that is very fun for a large group. However, that tables only seat eight so you would have to get two tables but I'm sure those tables would be right next to each other so you can easily talk to others in your party. And because it's also a buffet, people could get thier food whenever they wanted to. One hint for this seating - make your reservation for about five minutes after the band stops playing for one set. Then you can be seated, have your drink orders taken and be on at least your first helping before the band comes out for their next set. That really helps with the kids as they won't be diverted by the band and will have something in their stomachs. And after dinner - you just have to go out and view Illuminations from Germany. It's in the back of the park and everyone will try for the front of the park to make exiting easier. You won't have that problem since you can just stroll back to the Beach Club.

Another possibility for your group is the Yacht Club Galley. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and usually is not crowded at all. You shouldn't have a problem getting a reservation there and the menu is pretty varied with "safe" sort of foods.

Hope that helps. If you need anymore help, just PM me. I've been to all these places.
