large parties - any luck being seated together?

We're a party of 12. I made a bunch of ADR's and several had to be at two tables of 6, etc. I was told they would try to seat us together, but no guarantees...which I totally understand. But, I am curious...If you were in a large party with more than one table reserved, how often did you get lucky and get seated together? Curious...

I'm interested in this also. We are a group of 11 and all but one of our ADR's (Chef Mickeys) is on 2 or 3 tables. I am worried that we are all going to be seated separately.

We're doing this in Sept and Dec. I think we have separate tables at each restaurant except Ohana's for our whole week. I am really hoping they get us seated together. Go a bit early to give them the heads up and time to get you all together. That's what I was told by a CM

Last year we were a party of nine. When I called to make the ADRs there were a few instances where they booked us at two tables, but was told they would try to seat us together if possible.

We never had a problem getting a table all together. What we would do is one of us would pop into the restaurant about 15-30 minutes before our reservation, explain the situation and it always worked out.

I think if they do seat you at two tables they'll be very close, if not next to one another. I also think it's fun sometimes to have a kids table and an adult table....not sure what the ages of your party(s) are......

Most places will do their best. We are leaving in a couple of weeks with a party of 11, so will post back. When we went with this size group before (2 years ago), we were split up at The Plaza, CRT-dinner/twice. We were at one table at 50s PT, Kona, WCC, HDDR, Concourse. We have about 9 ADRs for our upcoming trip and every place except for WCC, has told us we would be in 2 or 3 tables. I'm expecting to be split at Coral Reef because the biggest seating they have is a double booth that seats 9.

I had to book two tables for a party of 6. When I made my ADR, the CM did say that ADRs within the first hour or last half hour of dinner hours have a much better chance to sitting close together.

For our upcoming trip in August we have a party of 11 and we are only seated togehter at 'Ohana and it is a later reservation. For all our other ADRs we have 2 tables. No worries though, it will be fine!

There will be 15 of us in January, and I made our ADR's on 7/20. We were told two tables at O'Hana, but our dinner ressie is at 5:40, the first hour, so there's a better chance of the tables being together. Same with Chef Mickey's, ressie at 5:10. We're at one long table for the Luau, we were told, and our Hoop tables will be together for sure, so she said.
So I'm interested if others think this will work out for us as we hope.

You may want to get a grand gathering number. We had a party of 9 last year Dec.-Jan. and the Grand Gathering group did our reservations and told us they would do their best to have our seating together. When I was booking one or two of the 2 week trip they said they may not be able to seat us together but they came through every time. The other perk with the Grand Gathering is the ability to book some special events. We did the Breakfast at Tony's to name one and it was wonderful.

We had a party of 9 for CRT breakfast a few years ago and they sat us all at the same table. I'll be going next year with the same group, plus two, and am hoping they can seat us all together again. If they can't sit you at the same table, do they at least seat you near each other? And if they do split the group, do they seat you all at the same time? I'd hate to have ressies at 8 a.m. and half of our group is seated at 8:05 and the other half at 8:40.

We have a grand gathering (did last year as well) for December, but we have 21 people and get to deal with group dining. I don't know the cut off for group dining reservations, but they state that our seats will be together. The only thing is we had to book within certain paramters set out by the restaurants. Almost all of them required that we arrive within 30 minutes of opening. So I think if your reservations are early, you will be okay.
