large metal plate on ground near castle....

On the Tomorrowland side of the castle near the restrooms there is a large metal plate on the ground - maybe 10 ft X 6 ft. What is this for? Does anyone know?

I would be curious to see it as well. Because it's at the base of the castle, could it be part of the lighting system or part of the gear they keep for the fireworks? I know the pillars in FRONT of the castle, right on each side of the bridge actually open up at night for lightning.

Because of space, a lot of the equipment they use is actually stores underground. Not sure if that could be it??

Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture....

I think fireworks are launched from it. DH disagrees. I'm trying to find out for sure...

For clarification - I don't think the "big" fireworks are lauched from it but the smaller, lower altitude ones. Or maybe those giant flame things come out of them.

Could be any number of utilities. My understanding is that all the fireworks are roof launched, but it could be show related. more likely it's an electrical or other utility vault. it could have show lighting for the fireworks.

That would make sense. I'm sure I have a picture of that plate, I will keep looking for it. Tho I reside a few thousand miles away I actually make 6-7 trips a year, and I take pictures of EVERYTHING.

Will post them if I find them.

could be like a fix on the ground for something and they are covering it up until its done... its all over DCA atm... :\
