Sorry if this info has been shared already; I did a search and did not find anything.

My ADR booking window opened this morning for my January 1-7 trip. We have a large family group this trip - 13 total from three generations. We only wanted to plan a few TS meals, to enjoy together. I was able to book dinner at 1900 PF and lunch at Tusker House for our second and third days, for all 13 guests, online for the exact times I wanted.

When I tried to book Bon Voyage breakfast for four days into the trip, it said I could not book that large of a party online and would have to call. A very nice CM on the dining line said that for large parties (either 10 or more or more than 10, I can't remember), you had to call the restaurant's dedicated large group line (407-939-2383).

I called, and got a voicemail prompt to leave a message and they would call back within 48 hours. I got the call a few hours later, and another great CM told me that he cannot see or book more than 180 days out, even if you are a Disney resort guest. So I asked if I should call in three days, when that window opened, and he admitted that if I do that, all reservations would be gone, taken by resort guests with smaller groups.

So essentially, the large group booking line is useless, unless you are very lucky! He was very friendly and professional about it, and suggested what I was going to try in any case, which was to split my party into two, and ask to be seated together when we arrived. No promises, but he said they try to accommodate.

I was able to book a group of 6 and a group of 7 without a problem.

Oh, he also mentioned that if your reservation is anytime earlier than 8:30, they will allow you to sign in and be seated as early as 7:30, when they open.

Last year our party had 12 people, and we didn't have any trouble making reservations online.

The problem came when we would show up- We would typically have to wait 30-60 minutes for the one "big" table to open up, or if my chance 2 smaller tables opened at about the same time and could be pushed together.

The only time we had less then 30 minutes was booking for a first seating. Its just a limitation of large groups

Thanks for the heads up. We are only doing a few meals together, so I was glad that two of the restaurants allowed me to book online. I'm not sure how many places have the restriction. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long, but we shall see!
