Ok...next summer (2013) looking at traveling with DH's family. It would be 13 of us total from a 3yo to a 67y.o. Does DL do any kind of Grand Gathering or special things for large groups?

Also does anyone know anything about private tours? Where would I find out cost and how that works? TIA...

I know it seems like a large group, but 10 really isn't, by Disneyland standards.

You can find info about tours on Disneyland.com. Group ticket sales are for groups of 15 or more for non-profit organizations and at the on-site hotels for 10 or more rooms.

I highly recommended calling a Travel Agent/Disney Representative. There may be a chance for discounted tickets/packages with such a large group, but it depends on what they are offering at the time. Really, you may have better luck with a Travel Agent since, like Disney Dreams said, they tend to enjoy the 15+ rule.

We did the Walk in Walts Footsteps Tour in Feb this year. The max they allow is 15 so your group of 13 would fit, just make sure to book ahead of time. The tour start at 9:30 till noonish, so your first in the park and dealing with slightly less crowds.

The tour itself is a walking tour with multiple stops. Quite easy for your age group I woudl think, our daughters 11, 14 really enjoyed the tour and learnt a lot of interesting facts about the park. You also get a few rides (Jungle Cruise, Train) and because your in a tour you walk in the exit line :) so no line up.

Also a nice sandwich lunch at the end of the morning walk.

Either tour you chose I am sure will be fantastic.
