Traveling with extended family and friends. There will be 18 in our group over 7 cabins.

I have all reservations linked online already. Do I have to request we dine together or will they automatically do that since we are linked?

And, I am gold so pretty sure I can get Palo brunch reservations. I would like to treat my parents to brunch. Can I add them to my reservation after their check in time? Even if there isn't any open spots, I am hoping that I can change from a reservation of 1 to 3 or more. Anyone ever do that?

Thanks!

The largest tables (on the Dream & Fantasy) are in Enchanted Garden and seat 10 (maybe 12). You'll most likely be put at separate tables, with the same serving team. Each serving team serves an 8 top, a 6 top and a 4 top.

If you want, you can call DCL to confirm that they have everyone linked. Yes, they seat linked rooms "together".
You can switch out each night, if you want, who sits with who.

You can only book reservation when your window opens for any guests in a linked room that are the same Castaway Club level. When lower level member windows open, you can check and see if there's any availability to either change your reservation, or book them separately. If you have to book them separately, you can go to the dining changes venue once onboard to consolidate both reservations into one.

Yes, I have added people to my Palo reservation once onboard. I would make sure I was either Palo in person after boarding or at the dining changes/Palo reservation venue soon after boarding. The time and place will be listed in the Navigator you get in the terminal. There is often a line waiting for them to open so get there early.

We had a table for 16 on the Fantasy (4 different families) I don't think our servers had any other tables but ours. We didn't ask for this specifically but all our reservations were linked and when we arrived at dinner there was the table set for 16.

In 2015 we sailed on the Wonder out of Miami for a 5 night Western Caribbean trip, we had a combined (linked) group of 15 people and they had us all at one table with one set of servers for the entire table, in all 3 MDR's.

My family is going next year and we will have 20 people over 7 rooms so this info was helpful. One person was designated to make sure all rooms were linked for dinner so we are all set there but i didn't recall seeing tables that big.

There aren't tables that large. But they will put several smaller tables together to make a larger one.

We've traveled with extended family, and any table over 12 makes it difficult to talk to everyone. We've had groups up to 48, and we've been seated in the same vicinity, and rotated tables on different nights so great-gma could visit with different grands.

In my experience an 8 top is as large as I like to go. Beyond that, it's very difficult to carry on conversations with anyone other than the two people on either side of you.

Be aware that if you have more than 4 staterooms linked you will not be able to book people from multiple staterooms for any activity online due to a limitation of the DC website. We are traveling with 5 staterooms this July and tried to book Palo for the adults in 4 of those rooms. We first tried to access each reservation from different devices at the same time. Found what appeared to be OK times, but when the 3rd or 4th reservation tried to add to their cart, the time was no longer available. Talked to DCL and eventually we unlinked the 5th stateroom for 10 days. That took us under the limit and let us book a Palo reservation for all the people we wanted.

We were able book the excursions we wanted with the same times by accessing each account individually.

We sailed on the Fantasy with a group of 21 last May. Our reservations were all linked. However, I did request our tables be next to each other. I also requested which families were to be seated together. All our requests were met in every dining room. We were extremely pleased.

DCL holds back a number of Palo reservations for guests who aren't able to book reservations online. If you go to the room designated in your Navigator (daily on board newsletter) for "dining changes" asap after boarding, you should be able to add/adjust your reservations.

We've traveled in groups of around 30, and never had a problem with MDRs. I've never had to say anything, either - we just show up and there are multiple huge tables set aside for us, and our own dedicated serving team.

Did RCL with just my husband and kept vaguely wondering why our waiter kept going to other tables!! :rotfl2:
