Lard Wrestling and Sleep Deprivation – A Dec. 08 TR

I TOTALLY understand about the shirt thing. Only I require that we all where matching shirts (at least in color) for the whole trip, so I'm always trying to find shirts that are the same color for boys and girls, and adults. AND are appropriate for HOT weather.
I fuss, because I am obsessed. LOL

Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

Thats a lovely wee cake!

Looks delicious. It also looks big enough to share.

Hope you enjoy!
Lx

Thank you! I thought it looked plenty big enough to share also. Plus, we will have desserts from dinner and Narcoosee's will most likely do something special for our anniversary although I am hoping more for champagne than a fourth dessert.

I want to see Bolt soooo bad, let me know how it is!

Actually every year my cousins, my aunt and I do the Black Friday 5 am thing so if I could get that for BF for Christmas that would be great. My cousins roommate works for Target so he gets us the sales flyer and we all read it on Thanksgiving and stake out our purchases  That will definitely be top on my list, thank you!!

That cake is gorgeous and definitely looks like it will be big enough to share! Your DH will love it! :goodvibes

We are thinking of doing Bolt tonight or tomorrow night. It has to be soon though as DH wants to see it in 3D. I'll report back.

Have fun with your shopping! I will so not be up that early but good for you!

I can not even imagine how hard it would be to find shirts for your whole brood. I understand it though. It must make it so much easier to count heads. I know I'm always counting vests when I take my GS troop somewhere. I love those bright green things because it makes it so easy to spot them!

Well, I was so busy on my time off that I forgot to come here and post for my

SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!!

:dance3: :cheer2:  :woohoo: :woohoo:  :cheer2: :dance3:

Literally, we are ONE SLEEP from starting our vacation and SIX SLEEPS from WDW! :woohoo:

DH and I actually fly out tomorrow to begin our vacation. We will be spending 4 days with DMIL before DBIL's wedding on Saturday and then it's on to the World! We're planning to take it easy and relax since we literally have nothing to do for the four days other than for DH to get his tux and us both to do wedding stuff. It should be a nice break before the craziness of WDW.

Being off for 4 days was a HUGE help! We were able to clean the house, do all of our laundry so we'll have all clean work clothes to wear when we come home and we have most of our stuff packed. At this point, everything on the to-do list is done except for finishing packing which we will be doing tonight after my Girl Scout meeting.

I received a $15 GC to iTunes from my scrappy DIS secret sis on here so I used it to download a couple of games and a movie to my iPod to help keep me busy. DH also found all of the Harry Potter audiobooks and added those as well so I am set for the airport/plane rides.

I have a couple of pictures to post of the final plan stuff. I typed up our daily touring plans with our ADR numbers and times on index card sized pages, cut them out and laminated them. They have been filed in each day's Passporter pocket so that I can slip them out each morning and slide them into my Passporter pouch to carry with us. I decorated my in-room trip journal and my tiny portable dining journal and will post pics of those as well. I'll post pics after I upload.

At this point, we really are done. I can't believe we are finally leaving after almost 9 months of planning. It still doesn't seem real. I'm SO EXCITED!!! :woohoo:

Have a great trip!! We will get there on Saturday...but since we are home until then it seems further away then yours!! I have tons of stuff still to do.. I am going to try and find someone to work for me on Thursday because I am feeling the crunch of trying to get everything done!!:scared1:

You leave tomorrow!! Have a great trip and enjoy the wedding!

I think it's a great time for you to get someone to work for you on Thursday. We were down to the wire even with both of us on a four-day weekend. Have fun!

I hope you, your wife and your cutie pie daughter have a great time!

Have a most magical time! pixiedust:

We're back! And completely exhausted but also wonderfully exhilirated. We had a wonderful time and felt that we had our own private fairy following us around sprinkling Pixie Dust on us most of the time.

I will be starting my Trip Report soon and will post a link to it here. In the meantime, real life intrudes with work, cookie sale training for Girl Scouts and laundry from a 2 week trip.

Thanks for planning along with me. I hope you will all come read about it in my Trip Report!

Yes, you read that right. It says Lard Wrestling. I know we’re all accustomed to the Sleep Deprivation aspect of a Disney vacation but I’m sure the Lard Wrestling is as much of a first for you as it was for us. We’ll get to that later.

In the meantime, welcome to the first trip report I have ever done for a public forum! I generally write these for myself to help with my scrapbooking obsess. . . I mean hobby, but I’ve never posted one to the Internet before. I had so much fun with my pre-trip report that I decided to give a trip report the go around.

We actually just returned this past Monday, 12/15, from 8 lovely days at WDW preceded by 4 days in Tallahassee for a family wedding. The family wedding was spent with family. WDW was fabulous. I’m sure y’all can read between the lines. ;)

Cast of characters:

Me: I am a bit of a Disney fan. Well, since we're being honest and among friends, I'm more of an insane Disney fan. I read everything I can get my hands on about Disney and manage to store most of it away in the squirrel holes of my inner brain so that the info can be readily accessed. No conversation is necessarily free from a correlation to something Disney-related. Being in corporate training and a fan of Disney's training program, even work matters aren't necessarily a Disney free zone. I am a HUGE fan of Walt Disney. He changed our lives and the way we think of entertainment for the better, he was an amazing businessman and he was a dreamer. The world is a better place for him having lived here.

I'm 31 in human years and an eternal 8 in Disney years. Being on property at a Disney resort puts a thousand watt smile on my face and I can get misty just thinking about the fireworks at DL or the MK. I'm a planner and list-maker by nature and there are no better lists to make than ones about a Disney trip. Combine the love of the Mouse and the callouses of a list-maker and you've got one well-planned trip and one burnt out husband.

DH: He likes Disney. He enjoys the movies, the music, and the animation. He is a HUGE fan of Walt's Nine Old Men and our more recent animators and is a pretty big Disney trivia repository himself. He has a GREAT time once we actually get to the parks and start doing things.

DH is 34 in both human and Disney years. We have been together for 10 of those. Over the course of our relationship, he has learned: a) to be picky about hotels, b) that valet is ALWAYS the best option, and c) that he hates the planning portion of any Disney trip. Unfortunately, since he likes participating in a well-planned trip, he has learned to deal. Or I’ve learned to ignore him – I’m not sure which. :teeth:

For further details on the agonizi. . . er, planning portion of this little adventure, here's a link to my PTR.

And for those of you who like to skip the pre-show and get on with the ride, here's a Table of Contents for your speed-reading pleasure.

Thanks for joining in. I hope you enjoy!!!
