i always do my countdowns with wake ups.....

right now i am 327 wake ups from hitting the motherland. :goodvibes

That's a great idea. And I love the "motherland." So true!

Welcome! And we did decide on sticking with Boma. It will be an adventure if nothing else!

Well, I have good news and bad news regarding our Resort Photo Session. And since it's better to be positive than negative, I'll lead with that.

The GOOD NEWS is that we are booked for December 10, at 9:30am at the Wilderness Lodge for our resort photo shoot. This is the exact date and time that we wanted and the CM confirmed that we would get the $25 price if we bring a copy of our confirmation. SO, we are ALL SET on that front.

The BAD NEWS is that the top I ordered to wear at the photo session is backordered and there is NO WAY I will have it by the time we leave. I'm really p****d about this as it was due to ship last Friday and I got the email this morning AFTER I had to email them for an update.

My dilemma is that I really like this top and think it looks darling on and would look super cute in the picture. So now I'm trying to figure out the color thing. We were going to do royal blue but the top only came in sky blue so I ordered that. Now I can't get that and I'm not sure what color to try. I can't do green because of all the green at the WL. I can't do white because we both look scary in it. I look great in red but DH doesn't. I thought about maroon but the CM said that might be too dark.

I guess you could say that I have absolutely no idea what to do. I can go with a different style of top in a royal blue but then DH and I won't have the matching polo look. I honestly don't know which is more important - same type of shirt or same color? :confused3

I would find something that you feel good in and is a complimentary color to DH's. I don't think it matters if you have the same style shirt, unless you just want to. And unless you start looking for both of you, it might be hard to find the exact same color. I personally say red for you. But then I say red for everything. :rolleyes1

WL is beautiful and I'm sure your pictures will be lovely. :thumbsup2

My expertise stylist advice (:rotfl: )says that the maroon will look really good. I think that the darker colors (royal blue or maroon) will look great with all the greenery and the overall look of WL.

Hi Shauna,

Just found your TR , just read the entire thing (I'm suppose to be paying bills..shhhh!) and I'm loving it!!! We'll be there the same time but we're staying at POP with our three little ones. :dance3: I can't believe how quickly time is going now that we're less than a month away from going! WOOHOO!!:cool1: Looking forward to hearing the rest of your report. My vote is for maroon, too. For our Fall wedding we did ivory and maroon and the pics outdoors were beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope to see you in WDW!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for your vote and for making me feel better. I would like a red shirt but DH thinks we should match.

I agree with you about the maroon and darker colors in general. I have good news, too!

:welcome: Can you believe how close our dates are? I am SO READY!!!

Thanks for your vote. I actually have a resolution.

I called the site where I ordered my shirt to cancel the backorder. They asked me why and I started in on my whole shirt drama. Well, it's a good thing I did!

The shirt I wanted is available in Royal Blue and they are doing a rush ship with it so it will be here next Monday! I am SO excited as this means I get the color I wanted in the first place AND it will be here in enough time for me to find a shirt for DH.

I literally never would have known if I hadn't called. I'm just so relieved. Even though I had a rotten day stressing about it, I'm happy it's resolved.

One more thing off the list!

Like all of the rest of us going to the World in November and December, I had to plan our ADRs without having the hours posted for the parks. My ADR window opened 6 days before the hours were posted BUT I use TourGuideMike to plan my trips so I felt pretty safe. I booked my ADRs on my 180 day and was lucky enough to get pretty much everything I wanted. I've had to tweak a few things since they decided to do away with lunch at the Garden Grill and we changed our flight plans but we now have a schedule we are happy with.

Thanks! Although there have been quite a few changes since that version of the itinerary. Shocking, no? :lmao:

Yes, we are doing MK the day that you are at MVMCP. The park closes to the public at 6:00 and we are going to try our hardest to be out by then. Ideally, I'd like to be done before that but it will depend on how many times DH wants to hit a few things.

Even more than being shirt-stress free, I'm now packing-stress free for myself. I still need to pick up a matching shirt for DH and an extra hoodie for him but all of my outfits for each day are accounted for. :woohoo:

I have a lot of progress on my to-do list.

DONE
2) Update confirmed plans in Passporter
3) Finish park touring plans
5) Create packing list
6) Buy Space Bags for packing

IN PROGRESS
1) Find petsitter for cats Have a good prospect lined up. Still need to meet and confirm.
4) Pick out pictures and decide on wording for Coral Reef menu. Photos selected but I still need to modify sizes so they can be emailed. I'm still working on the wording.
8) Find shirts for Resort photo shoot My shirt has been ordered and will be here on Monday, 11/17. After it arrives, I will be able to find one for DH that matches.

NEED TO START
7) Find in-room and in-park journals and decorate as necessary
9) Make arrangements to get to/from airport
10) Get DH fitted for tux for wedding
11) Remind DH to get haircut
12) Purchase and send wedding gift
13) Choose ornament for Reception tree

I'm definitely feeling good on current progress. I just wish DH would take a more active role in some of the decision making. I've asked his opinion about airport transport and he doesn't have one. I asked about pet sitter stuff and he responded that he didn't know. I feel like time is ticking away and I still have so much to do that the least he could do is answer questions when I need him to. I know he is getting progressively more excited about the trip. I also know that he's not so much into the details but all of this stuff must get done. :sad2:

On the other hand, since the packing list is done and all clothing confirmed, I think I'm ready to start packing. I've been piling things on a designated shelf in my closet so some of it is kind of already done. Before I lug out the suitcases, I'd like to do a deep clean. Since I can't stand or walk for long periods, I really need DH's help with this but he is less than enthusiastic. Regardless, I've asked him to help me with bits and pieces over the next two weeks so we are completely done by Thanksgiving weekend. If the house is completely deep cleaned by that point, I can whip out the suitcases and just load in all the stuff I've been setting aside.

Basically, my goal is to avoid the cleaning and packing panic that occurred before our last trip. We were having a house sitter come and stay and I wasn't OK with it unless we deep-cleaned the house. We essentially did the entire deep clean, did laundry and packed for the entire two week trip the night before we left. We got zero sleep and were completely exhausted going in which made us even worse the whole time we were there. This time, that is SO not going to happen!

26 sleeps until WDW!!!

I FINALLY received my WDW package documents in the mail yesterday and I am SO EXCITED!!!! Honestly, there wasn't much in there other than the run-down of what is included in our package, all of the vouchers and a couple of luggage tags. Even so, it just made the whole thing seem more real. The whole envelope has now been tucked away into the appropriate Passporter pocket and is all ready to go.

Just 19 sleeps until we leave and will be at WDW in 24!!!!!!!

My favorite thing about the package? The smell of that plastic envelope. It's really like nothing else you will come across and it totally says Disney to me.

Have you got your outfit for the wedding? What are you wearing? You are sooo close now! Can't wait to hear how you get on.

That is SO TRUE! DH laughed at me because the first thing I did was take it out of the envelope and sniff it!

I do have my outfit as I'm wearing a dress I purchased last year for another wedding.

This is my dress:

in this color combo:

I have some cute black strappy sandals, a black shrug that I wear over since I'm always cold and a set of onyx jewelry. I really love this dress and have gotten tons of compliments on it. I'm a bit nervous that the bridesmaids dresses are going to be a similar color but I'm still going to wear it even if they are since all of my other cocktail dresses are black and it's an afternoon wedding. My other concern is that DH is in the wedding and is wearing a dark green vest so we're going to look like a Christmas tree. Oh well. I didn't pick the colors. :sad2:

Yes, it is getting so close that I am constantly excited. I'm going to be impossible to work with soon!

Hi Shauna,

Love the dress....it's so pretty and your additions sound cute! You know you'll have to post pictures!! :goodvibes Your trip is SO close now...woohoo!!:cool1:
