Laptops

Does anyone take their laptop with them when they go to Disney? If you do what do you do with it while you aren't in the room? We are staying at All Star Movies, is the safe large enough to leave it in that?

I take my laptop everywhere I go. I bought a $20 laptop cable lock and secure it to a piece of furniture in the room.

No the safe are not large enough to hold a laptop. I think when we stayed at the GF ( no we didn't like it there have our reasons ) DH said the safe there was large enough but I didn't look. When we take ours we lock it one of suitcases with a lock

I locked my laptop in the safe at Pop. It fit perfectly standing on end. It didn't fit in the safe at the Yacht Club so I just put it in a drawer under some clothes.

I've locked mine in the safe at POP, Polynesian and the AKL. I have a cable lock as 'backup' in case it doesn't fit in the safe but I haven't run into this issue.

We take ours on every trip. It's nice to have it's convience. Also, we download the days pics on it each night and clean off the memory card to make room. We then lock it in our luggage.

Not true for all, we have an apple laptop and it has fit in every safe at every disney resort I have stayed at except the boardwalk and it was just a hair to big for there safe.

We always bring a laptop to WDW.

When we were there over Christmas, DD13 got a new IMAC on Christmas morning. We just left it out in our room at AKV....it was fine there.

That is because APPLE's RULE! I take my Macbook Pro EVERYWHERE

I never leave home without my mobile office (laptop, printer, smartphone). At Disney, and most hotels, I just set everything up on a desk and leave it there. No one has ever bothered anything other than a maid at the Grand Floridian straightened some papers that I left in mess.

Besides the necessary evils of work, it is quite useful for the trip. Others have already mentioned downloading the day’s pictures. It is also nice to have access to the Disney official site and informational sites like the DIS. Being the Type-A planner, I keep a spreadsheet with the park hours, activities, and reservations. I can easily change on the fly and print out a new sheet.
