How long did/does your battery last for? I don't mean 6 hours, I mean 6 months, one year, etc.

I'm so freaking angry with my laptop and it's barely a year old. The battery is completely gone. If I keep it off the cord for more than a minute it'll shut off. It overheats very, very, very easily. The power cord is almost broken. I've had duct tape around it to hold it in place for the last month or so.

Last week my 7 key broke off unexpectedly. Today it was the down key.

I am about to freaking drop this thing out of the 3rd floor. I am beyond angry. :furious:

When I got it, it would last for 2 1/2 hours. Now it's between 1/12 hours and 2 hours.

My down button has come off too. I kind of fixed it, but it comes off about 30 times a day...

Mine lasts for about 2.5 hours and I've had it for almost 2.5 years.
Do you have a Dell notebook?

About a year and it's down to 30 minutes or less. It used to be 2 and a half.
I already had to replace it once about a year after I got it.

I take it on and off the charger though and I'm on it a lot.

I've had mine a couple months and the battery lasts about 2.5 hours. It doesn't overheat either, which is one of my favorite things about it; it barely gets warm.

Mine lasts usually 2.5 hours and I've had it for about 3 years.
But mine overheats very quickly.
My keys on my keyboard sometimes like to be difficult. Sometimes some of them work and some don't.

:)
My laptop may only be a windows xp oldie from a little heard of make but it runs a hell of a lot quicker than my friend's new apple ones.

I've had it for over a year, and it lasts probably about 2-1 1/2 hours. It's an acer.

My Dell notebook is about 4 years old and the battery still lasts about an hour and a half.

But my Macbook is about.....4 months old and the battery lasts about 3 and a half hours

Here's a tip for the next computer you get, try to keep the battery out of your computer as much as possible. Trust me, it will kill the battery quick.
I know this because my dad is an electronics/computer tech.

That explains it. Dells suck when it comes to battery life.
My computer model has a problem with the battery adapter cord falling out. The only way to fix that would be to replace the motherboard which they won't do.

My laptop is a goner.

Apparently its gonna cost 1000 bucks to get it fixed so im just ignoring the fact that if you touch the broken corner the screen goes off and that the whole right side of the keyboard comes off and the webcam is broken. and a whole bunch more.

just getting that out there. lol

Mine used to say on for like almost 3 hours. Now it's about 2.5.
But for a while it wouldn't charge when i plugged it in. 'Plugged in but not charging' and I'd have to fiddle with the cord to make it work. Then it didn't work at all..
So I sent it to Dell and they replaced my service board? Whatever that is. My battery is fine now.

My brother told me this too. I need to take my battery out...I was just annoyed that everytime the cord came out my computer went out. I've been using this one for like 4 months now and I'd estimate the battery last 2-3 hours. My other one (just like this one) was about the same. The down key came off on that one which was so annoying. Even after I sort of fixed it it still came off.

You pay so much for them and they are crap.

I hate Dell xD
This compute ris crap.
Yeah my brother told me the same, take the battery out if you plan to be plugged in a lot.
Which I am, I always have my computer plugged in because I'm in my room, why woudl I have any need to not be plugged in? So yeah..
I have a lot of problems with my computer, but it's not like I'm trying to fix them.. I'm probably causing them.

Oh man, you have my sympathy. Computers suck.

My laptop is the same way: battery lasted just under a year so that now it needs to be plugged in all the time, and it overheats constantly. But I found out that if you've got overheating problems, all you have to do is vent it well; mine has the fan on the bottom, so I've got this folding stand/table support thing that's made of hard mesh, so the laptop sits on it and the air flows through the mesh instead of being trapped on the carpet/blanket/my pants/etc. It works like a charm, except for being heavy and slightly painful to hold on your lap. At least it doesn't shut off randomly now. It's still frustrating as all heck to have this expensive computer that just doesn't work the way it's supposed to, or how you need it to. ARGH.

(One of my hinges broke, even. Now I've got a strip of elastic tied around one side to keep it from falling apart, and yeah, it looks as silly as it sounds. :headache:)

Mine usually lasts about 3 hours, but I just got it around Christmas time so it's not that old at all. The keys are still fully in-tact too, but I'm really careful not to bump it around too much since I'm the one that had to pay for it. :headache:

I like my laptop...I can take it around with me and it doesn't shut off when I'm doing things like the desktop I had before it did. It's amazing. ^__^

I have an Acer Aspire, btw.
