3. Both

Which do you like better?

Desktop if I do not need the portability. If I want to roam wireless at home, if the desktop is being used by someone else or am traveling, then the laptop. Only a dektop at my office, though I am not at my offfice too frequently, mostly used by my assistant, Karen.

The boys couldn't wait till their sister came home from college, her school is a lap top school. I purchased hers for $300. She gets a new one this fall for her junior and senior year at Northern MI.

I just have to go to Staples now, Charter Cable said we only need a box so her lap top can be wireless.

Love my laptop for use in the den, kitchen, bedroom, wherever! And, for taking on vacation to download pictures off my camera. But, when I have a lot of work to do (I WAH), I prefer my desktop.

But I could only choose one, I'd choose a laptop. Wireless networks rock!

I'll take my desktop any day. I've been living off my laptop over a month now...since moving from FL. :faint: First I need to clear a spot, then find a computer desk, then have someone come hook it all up because I haven't the foggiest. And let's not forget the wire I ripped when taking it apart that has to be replaced.

Laptop! It makes it simple for me to carry my work for school (grades, lesson plans, parent contacts) to and from school with no complications. I'm also wireless, so I love curling up in "my" chair with my computer on my lap, or going out on the porch to work. The laptop is also newer with the latest Mac OS, so it flies compared to my desktop. The only time I like the desktop better is for playing games that need a mouse and a good size surface to move the mouse!

We prefer to have both (and we do). The desktop is nice to have, especially for video editing purposes and other things. It's nice to have a standard "office area" in the house with a desktop, scanner, printer, etc.

The laptop is great though to have to roam around the house, or to take on vacation. It's nice to be able to use the laptop while watching tv also.

Both are Sony's...I don't know that I'll buy another brand again. We love them.

We have both and use them both for different reasons. My laptop goes on vacation with us.

Desktops are better if you compare the equvilent specs on a laptop to a desktop the desktop will outperform the laptop by quite a large margin. Being the laptop will be alot slower yes it is portable but I never used to take mine with me when I traveled. We did take it with us in the car on our trips to Florida and again it was never used we thought the kids would watch movies on it but never once did they were far more content colouring and reading etc. So for my money and the performance I want I take a desktop hands down over a laptop.

Both but prefer my desktop when I'm on the dis.

The laptop is good for writing papers or browsing the net, the desktop is best suited for larger projects, website development, stuff like that. :)
