I was thinking of bringing my laptop as it has a DVD player in it so my son could watch some movies on our flights to ft. lauderdale in tendays. My question is does anyone know if southwest has adaptors on board to plug them into (similair to the cig. lighter in your car) The battery ony lasts like 2 hours on it's own and I can't think of how I could recharge it between flights.

Do you think the airport would freak out if I charged the battery in one of their outlets while we were waiting in between flights?

No, that would be fine. But it's ridiculously hard to find ordinary 110V outlets at most airports.

SWA doesn't have any passenger power ports.

You can recharge at airports, but only if you can find an outlet. Sometimes they are under a key-locked floorplate, as they only thing they use them for is the floor-cleaning equipment. You can sometimes find them around the back sides of support pillars, too, but best not to count on it.

Another choice is to get a backup battery. If you go to pricegrabber.com and enter "battery" and your laptop's model number, you'll get a large range of dealers and prices to choose from for a backup battery.
