Lanyards??

Help I have been looking at everyones pics and seeing everyone wearing lanyards around neck. Couple questions... Why? What is in the pocket. I know that you can put pins on it, but otherwise is it needed?

We kept our roomcards, fastpasses, cash (tips) and disney gc's in them (kids), plus cellphone numbers for the kids. We also attached sharpies to them for autographs.

I kept cash, room keys, fast passes, my cell phone, change, credit card, and my reservation # to my ADR's. They are awsome. Think about getting you one....I got mine from ebay for $2.50!!!

For dh and I, it will be our wallets and we'll leave our actual bulky wallet in the room. For ds, it will be for his park pass. And, of course, if we start pin collecting, it'll have those as well......

We loved having our lanyards for fastpasses, room keys and the little bit of cash that we carried around. I agree about buying before you go. I bought ours at -get this- Home Depot for about 2.00 each. Just make sure that the "ribbon" width is fairly wide, just in case you begin pin collecting.

You can get them all over in any park and DTD...stores & carts!
Beware of the plastic pouches...the first Tink one I had got hooked on one of the horses at the carousel and the hook broke...the second one must have gotten caught on the bar at BTMRR when I stood up because I was walking to get out stroller went to reach for it and it was gon--luckily DH had room cards and FPs with him.

We normally don't use lanyards but on this last trip I did find it useful to have one during Extra Magic Hours since they are now requiring guests show their KTTW card before entering a ride. Kept them in a handy place so we didn't have to dig them out of the wallet.

the one issue we had was our AP's didn't fit in the disney lanyard pouch in the holder they give you. I like to keep ours in that holder to keep them in better condition. I wish the pouch was a tiny bit bigger. I'm sure I could get a bigger one somewhere...
