DS is 19 months old, and LOVES his Disney pins. I picked up a lanyard on a previous trip, and it had been tucked away until this morning. I wanted him to try it on... but I think it's far too long!

Does anyone know if Disney makes a toddler size lanyard? Or, should I pick up a cheap lanyard locally and cut it smaller before our Dec trip? :confused3

Yeah, they do make toddler's lanyard. I bought my dd one during our recent trip and it fits her just nicely. She is 4 yo and not overly long on my 2 yo son either.

IMHO too much of a choking risk.....

On that note, make sure it has some sort of quick release mechanism. Our lanyard (from Kelloggs) has velcro. I don't know if the WDW ones have velcro or not (I never looked).

IMHO those lanyards w/ all the pins on them get pretty heavy. Ours was uncomfortable for me to wear for any length of time. What we did, was carry the lanyard in our fanny pack or pocket until time to trade, then we would let DS8 put it on and go trade. Then it would go right back into the fanny pack or pocket.

The ones we got with our Costco travel package (for Disneyland), and the ones we bought at Disneyland, all have velcro...just pull on them and the velcro rips open, no problem.

We saw several little kids around my son's age with a knot at the back of the lanyard, which shortened it up. We did it with DS's, and it made it MUCH more wearable for him. And since the velcro release is at the front, it doesn't change that safety mechanism.

The WDW one we have now includes the velcro - and I'm only planning on letting DS wear the lanyard for trades. Otherwise, it's going back inside my bag!

I think we'll take the one we've got down with us - and worse case use the knot routine. If we can get a toddler model, great - if not, at least we've got a backup!

I bought my little girl a toddler size one in May at Disney World. It was bought from the cart beside Dumbo.

Are lanyards the only cool option? Would a baseball cap or a simple vest like the Scouts wear be too dorky?

here are the lanyards i made for the big family trip coming up

if i had little ones under 5 i would have attached a pin so i could pin it to their clothes

we just recently got back from our 1st trip to disneyland a couple of days ago and my son who is 2 wore his lanyard all day we just put a knot in the back a and it worked great the velcro was in the front so no safety issues. he had a few pins on it, a weight, and a few buttons as well. and it worked perfect , i think at one time his autograph book was attached to it so that he could write on a few blank pages while waiting in line ..
