Awesome!! So excited to finally (delayed 3 years from Covid) get our Platinum onesThey still give you lanyards but not at check-in they are in your stateroom.
No it starts at second cruise when your silver.Do first time cruisers get lanyards?
Do first time cruisers get lanyards?
Well, that depends a lot on which cruise you choose. My first cruise was a 4-night Bahamian cruise on the Dream some years ago and we were able to book everything that we wanted to book. Common cruises like that don't attract as many Gold, Platinum, and Pearl members. Repositioning cruises, such as the cruise from New York to San Juan that I took last fall, don't usually attract many guests at all, so again you'd have a good chance to book whatever you'd like as a new cruiser.Sadly first time cruisers kinda get the shaft! LOL! NO lanyards and can't really book much since everything is gobbled up!
I got my lanyard on etsy!
I feel the same about gold for bookings. We recently did the Wish and I could not get any tastings for our cruise.Sadly first time cruisers kinda get the shaft! LOL! NO lanyards and can't really book much since everything is gobbled up!

And if not in your stateroom, you can get them at guest services. That happened to us in September, all 3 of us were silver and there were no lanyards in the room. We went to guest services and they took care of us!They still give you lanyards but not at check-in they are in your stateroom.
Those club cards were something that you could print at home to put into your lanyard pouch with your room key to make it look nicer. They're not replacing lanyards.I feel the same about gold for bookings. We recently did the Wish and I could not get any tastings for our cruise.
Someone had shared supposed photo of Castaway Club level cards awhile back. There’s a rumor lanyards may go away with the new Pearl level and you will get a room key sized ID card. That seems unlikely to me. If they are to do away with lanyards then I assume they’d go to a digital id card like they have for DVC.
Well, that depends a lot on which cruise you choose.
Yes and yes.Great to hear the lanyards are in your room. Are they 1) still different for each CC level and, 2) do they still have the plastic pouch to put your card in? We have been on another cruise line where you had to go to Guest Services and have it punched in the corner.
