I know there is a collectors forum, but I think this topic was mentioned on this board already so I 'll take a chance and post it here:

I have seen two different kinds of Disney lanyards sold on Ebay. One is thick, and the other is more thin (looks more string-like). Which is better, and does anyone know off hand how much they charge for the different kinds at the park? I thought I read somewhere that a new softer, more neck-friendly one was being sold. Is that either of these two? Is there anywhere besides Ebay or WDW to get these at a bargain?

I would love to get this ready to go before our trip so I can give my daughter a lanyard and a few pins to trade while we're there (just for fun)!

TIA for all the help guys! :wave2:

Most of the ones that you see in the parks are the wider ones. That way the pins lie flat.

But whichever you prefer, they'd both probably work.

Good Luck!!

As a teacher, many feel the thinner Lynards are better to wear for a long period of time. I have the thicker ones for my boys, I think they show off the pins nicely. I have not seen the new ones yet, but I hope someone else knows.

I know my DS gets his at Hot Topic at the mall. They have tinkerbell ones and I think a couple of other Disney ones.

Hi,

I could be wrong but I always thought the thinner string like ones were CM lanyards?

The thinner string-like lanyards are for holding ID's not pins. They usually have a medallion on them that has a decent weight and a metal clip with a plastic pocket to put your ID in. CM's use them to hold their ID, I buy them to hold my ID's for my full time job :)

They would be highly unsuitable for pins tho -- not enough room to really clip on a pin and there's a greater chance that they'll fall off of it.

THANKS GUYS!

I will definitely get a thicker lanyard. Now I have to figure out what character to go for! Does anyone have any idea how much the lanyards cost at the park?

TIA - you guys always come through! :sunny:

I would assume the prices would be the same at WDW as they are at DL. I was just at DL a few weeks ago and the lanyards were $10-12, depending on character, or for $25 you could get a starter pack that had a lanyard and 4 pins. The packs are all themed and you get 2 sets of duplicate pins. That way you can keep 2 and trade 2.
