I'm sure this has been answered, but I didn't want to dig around the boards to find it.

Where can I buy lanyards and ID/KTTW holders? They don't even necessarily have to be "Disney" themed. I've seen them at Hobby Lobby for a very inexpensive price, however, I don't want to buy a box of 40 badge holders Office Depot, when I only need 4. Any ideas?? Thanks a bunch!;)

Did it include the lanyard and the badge holder? If so, do you remember what the packaging said so that I can search for it on their website? Thanks!

We bought our lanyards at Party City for $0.99 each. As for the card holder? I guess I will check out Staples.

What is the advantage of using the lanyards over using a fanny pack?

I'm not a huge fanny pack fan, but that's just my opinion. I'm planning on using a crossbody bag. However, after many trips to the World, I was tired of trying to fish out my KTTW to use when getting fast passes and using the fast passes and when making purchases. I've decided to use a lanyard so it's more easily accessible.

This is our first trip to WDW...
I was curious if we needed lanyards and badge holders.

We have been on DCL and they give you a lanyard at check in...so at WDW we need to provide our own?

Thanks for the help!!

No, WDW does not give you a lanyard at check-in:guilty:.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions, but my husband had some extra lanyards and badge holders from work. :woohoo: I might have to buy new lanyards cause his say "Christian Education Sunday School" on them. haha

DH and I get small pouches to go around our necks and hold our cards when we go to conferences. Most of them have some Tech/ Education company name on them, but that's what we use. ;)

You could also consider buying a passport holder that goes around your neck.

Just wanted to add this really quick tidbit. I was using a pin lanyard with the plastic pouch to carry my PhotoPass card. DH and I rode BTMRR and when we got off my plastic pouch was GONE! From what we can figure, it must have gotten stuck between my tummy and the safety bar and ripped off. As there is nothing reinforcing the hole on the plastic pouch the jerking around on the ride was enough to tear it off.

If you are looking for something to carry your passes etc around your neck, I would recommend the PassHolder Pouch from Passporter. It's WAY sturdier!! Here is the link to purchase: PassPorter PassHolder Pouch

The more I think of it, I really am not too comfortable with my key in a plastic holder all day. I wear an ID badge in one of these for work. They get really maleable when out in the heat. I bought my kids Disney lanyard for their pins.

For about 15 years I have been using the above holder. Not the same one. But I really feel comfortable with it's durability.

I don't wear a fanny pack cause I have no waist:confused3.

The plastic pouches that hang on the end of the pin lanyards are held on by a TINY loop of metal that can VERY easily bend and let the pouch fall off. That's why we love the ones from Office max. They are one piece - the cord is secured to each side of the badge holder and there are no little loops that could bend or break. We used our first set of badge holders for about 6 trips before they fell apart.

maybe I am overthinking it, but I was thinking the other night what if the lanyard got caught on something and strangled you? I know, what a thought. But I was thinking of getting one for me and my 5 year old and that thought crossed my mind. I work in a hospital, and and badge holder that goes around the neck got nixed about 10 years ago. Too many confused and combative patients attempted to strangle nurses with their own badge, eek.

I bought this same kind of holder 2yrs ago at WDW. PLEASE be sure if the cord has the little plastic clip at the end that pulls apart that you secure it better. We were riding on RnRC and it come apart after I pulled the bar down over my shoulders. I noticed that it was not around my neck before we took off thank goodness and it was in my lap, thank goodness I noticed this before it took off. I had all 4 of our KTTW cards in there along with my DL. After we got off I tied a knot at the end of the cord just in case the plastic part got pulled apart again, at least if it did it then the knot would keep it from falling off of me..

For EMH you need to show your KTTW cards at all the rides so it is easier if you just have it in a clear pouch around your neck instead of digging it out of your fanny pack/bag each time.

I worked in Dept of corrections and now in the mental health field. This is always a concern. Never know when someone is going to say boy I would love to kill that person today. So we have break away lanyards to prevent such a thing.

As a first timer to WDW and never having actually seen a KTTW card, is there any reason one couldn't hole-punch it somewhere and wear it on a lanyard like that?

It's what I've always done with cruise key-cards, and would gladly do it again here if it would work!

I do not think this would work. Mainly because the whole card passes through the machine when you enter the park, not just the magnetic strips. This also happens at the fast pass machine. I guess you could always ask when you check in and recieve your card.

BTW- have fun on your first trip!
